Simple Plan returned to Walt Disney World to perform their first shows of 2019

For the third year in a row, Simple Plan arrived to Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL a few days ago to once again perform as a part of the Garden Rocks festival series. There, the band is scheduled to perform for four consequent days with three short performances each day. Previously, the guys performed there in 2018 as well as in 2017.

As it’s already become the tradition, the members of the band all tagged their families along to not only work but also spend some more time with their loved ones in “The Most Magical Place On Earth”. Unfortunately as expected, David has still not rejoined the band on tour.

Yesterday, March 17th, Simple Plan kicked off this concert series with their first show in 2019 with the first one of the three sets out of which we have acquired two of the band’s setlists. Just like last time, the guys like to change the songs up a little bit for all three performances, so that the attendees of the shows can enjoy a wider variety of their songs. Check out two of the three setlists from yesterday below:

1. Jet Lag
2. Addicted
3. Your Love Is A Lie
4. Grow Up
5. Crazy
6. Summer Paradise

1. Shut Up
2. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
3. I’d Do Anything
4. Perfect World
5. Welcome to My Life
6. Perfect

During one of the sets, Pierre also apparently took over Chuck’s place behind the drums again and played a little drum solo, which was captured on the following video posted on Seb’s Instagram today. Have a look:

Simple Plan rocked the Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania with a one-off show!

Some lucky inhabitants of the town called Slippery Rock in Pennsylvania had the unique opportunity last night to see Simple Plan perform at the local university campus alongside an opening band called Punchline – and all that for just $10!

The members of the band finally went back to work yesterday after a couple months off that some of them spent either at home or vacationing at places such as Italy (Seb) or Barbados (Pierre).

Since the band has not played in a while, I’m sure many of you are interested in the setlist that the band chose to use for this one-off show. Simple Plan decided to go with a regular mix of songs from all five of their records, mostly however still concentrating on songs from the first two records, which is understandable as those album were the most popular in the U.S. And it’s worth noting that even though the No Pads tour is no more, the guys still kept the now classic entertaining switcheroo between Chuck and Pierre during Grow Up.

Have a look at the setlist from Simple Plan’s show at Slippery Rock University below:

1. I’d Do Anything
2. Jump
3. Welcome To My Life
4. Jet Lag
5. Boom!
6. Addicted
7. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
8. Your Love Is A Lie
10. Summer Paradise
11. Grow Up
12. Crazy
13. I’m Just A Kid
Encore:
14. Shut Up!
15. Perfect World
16. Untitled
17. Perfect

Also make sure not to forget to have a look inside the gallery to see the pictures from behind the scenes of yesterday’s appearance of Simple Plan at the local campus as well as photos from their performance:

Simple Plan ended the TOFTT tour cycle with the last show at a hot-air-balloon festival in Canada with Perfect World & Untitled on the setlist!

On Saturday, August 11th, Pierre, Chuck, Jeff and Sebastien all gathered in the city of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu near Montreal, QC, Canada to perform the very last set of their Taking One For The Team tour cycle. After this concert, the band’s plans are to get back to writing and hopefully reach the studio a bit later down the road and produce a brand new album [in fact, Simple Plan have previously stated they would like to release some new music hopefully early next year].

The final show of the tour took place at the International Hot-Air-Balloon Festival in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and since it was in such a close proximity to the band’s hometown, many of their friends could have been seen in the crowd, including the band’s graphic designer Fred Jerome, or their former merch manager, photographer and co-host of the Man Of The Hour show – Patrick Langlois (also known as the “6th member of Simple Plan). Besides them, the band members’ families were also present at the show, which Simple Plan took advantage of during I’m Just A Kid, when they invited their own kids on stage (as well as some other ones) to take a group picture with their dads… and Patrick and his son [check it out above].

Before the show started, Simple Plan had a soundcheck that was open to public, during which Pierre got down from the stage to interract with the crowd a bit and give plenty of high-fives, while singing ‘Farewell’ [check out a video of this cool moment here]

As far as the actual concert goes, it was the first show after a whole summer of shorter sets, that Simple Plan got to perform a full setlist. Similarly to their appearance at the Pro-Am Gagné-Bergeron ice-hockey match two days before, they kept Untitled on the setlist [see the video below!] and to make the night even more special they also added Perfect World!

Check out the full setlist below (big thanks to Jen!):

1. I’d Do Anything
2. Jet Lag (French version)
3. Jump
4. Your Love Is A Lie
5. Welcome To My Life
6. Boom
7. Addicted
8. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
9. When I’m Gone
10. Grow Up
11. Crazy
12. I’m Just A Kid
Encore:
13. Shut Up!
14. Perfect World
15. Untitled
16. Perfect

Simple Plan change setlist in Rio and officially add Vacation!

The second-to-last show of the No Pads tour in Brazil took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Wednesday and just like the one in Sao Paulo, it was completely sold-out.

Prior to the day of the show, Simple Plan’s photographer Chady Awad left the tour to tour with Parkway Drive in Europe and since Chady was the one to step in for David in certain parts of the show and play bass, it was Chris Adolph, Simple Plan’s technician, who was there to help out in this matter.

The biggest and fairly unexpected change on this show however was the sudden addition of ‘Vacation’ on the No Pads part of the setlist – which has only been played at soundchecks until now. To keep the total count of the songs still 21 however, Simple Plan did not play ‘Your Love Is A Lie’ in the encore. During the show, Jeff also made an homage to a popular local pop singer called Anitta by playing a solo of the song ‘Vai Malandra’ (thx Bruno for the info). Check out the full setlist from Rio below:

1. I’d Do Anything
2. The Worst Day Ever
3. You Don’t Mean Anything
4. I’m Just A Kid
5. When I’m With You
6. Meet You There
7. Addicted
8. My Alien
9. God Must Hate Me
10. I Won’t Be There
11. One Day
12. Vacation
13. Grow Up
14. Perfect
Encore:
15. Shut Up!
16. Jump
17. Boom
18. Jet Lag
19. Summer Paradise
20. Crazy
21. Welcome To My Life

And make sure to also check out the following video that captures ‘Vacation’ live in Rio:

The gallery has also been updated with a bunch of pictures both from the backstage of the show, where Simple Plan did some interviews and also attended the pizza party before the show, as well as pictures from the show in Rio itself. Have a look:
