VIDEO: Simple Plan’s new sketch reveals new music to be released today at midnight!

Yesterday, Simple Plan teased their entire fandom by a print screen of a fan comment, predicting that the band would be releasing some new music ahead of their co-headlining tour with State Champs – that means this month. Of course, many fans have been cautious about Simple Plan’s “soon”, but believe it or not, things are actually happening TONIGHT!

In a brand new sketch video, released today on Simple Plan’s social media channels, Danny Vance, Simple Plan’s tour manager can be seen walking up to all members of the band, trying to convince them to help him announce something big. Eventually the band does so… but not entirely. The only information we know is that SOMETHING is being released tonight at midnight between Thursday, October 11th and Friday October 12th. As far as time zones goes, it is unknown, but we’re betting on EST.

Check out the video teaser for the announcement below:

“We’ve got something big happening tonight and we can’t wait for you to find out what it is! But I guess you’re gonna have to wait just a little longer… unless State Champs fills you in?? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤣🤣🤣 #Soon #VerySoon”

UPDATE:

State Champs replied to Simple Plan’s suggestion with the following video – making We The Kings help with the announcement instead. Watch State Champ’s reply here.

Travis from We The Kings later on replied with his own video:

Simple Plan and State Champs announce a fall U.S. co-headlining tour with We The Kings as support

Yes, you’re reading right: in a highly surprising move, Simple Plan and State Champs announced they would be heading out on a co-headlining tour in the United States this coming fall. This news comes right after Simple Plan hit the studio to begin the recording process of their 6th album. As of right now it is unclear when exactly new Simple Plan album would be released, however given the announcement of the tour with State Champs, it’s safe to say that there is a high possibility that it will serve as a promo tour before the album’s out and the fans might just hear some new songs live on this tour!

Besides Simple Plan and State Champs, the fans attending this U.S. tour will be also able to catch Simple Plan’s old friends We The Kings as the support act on this tour. The tour will begin in October in Virginia and will take the three bands all over the U.S. to states like Maryland, New York, Massachusetts, Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Illinois, Texas, Arizona, Nevada and California throughout all of November.

We will be adding all the dates into our tour section soon, so keep your eyes open.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, 10am local time – for pre-sale (on Tuesday, 12pm EST), head to sp.soundrink.com a use the code SPSC2019.

Lead singers of Tonight Alive and State Champs name SP amongst their favorite Warped memories in new Billboard article

To commemorate Warped Tour coming to its close (with today actually being the very last Warped Tour day), Billboard released a new article entitled “Goodbye, Warped Tour: 21 Bands Relive Their Favorite Festival Memories in Their Own Words”.

From our point of view, it’s certainly very interesting to see how much of a footprint Simple Plan have left not only in the hearts of Warped attendees, but also in the bands that took part in the final cross-country tour. For example, the lead singers of both Tonight Alive/b> and State Champs mentioned Simple Plan as one of the people who’ve made their Warped memories even greater. Check out what Jenna McDougall from Tonight Alive and Derek DiScanio from State Champs said about Simple Plan below:

‘Whoever we met and toured with on Warped Tour that summer, we would often go out with the next fall or the next spring. This year Simple Plan is on the tour, and it’s not the first time that we’ve toured together. They’re really beautiful people, and it’s just this really amazing experience to ride the same wavelength as the people who’ve influenced your musical career. We used to watch Simple Plan DVDs when we had band practice when I was 15 years old. These bands seeped into our bloodstreams, and now we are out here touring with them. We’re still on completely different levels, but it is cool to be on the same lineup, eat together, and sit out on the back of the trailers every night.’

– Jenna McDougall (Tonight Alive) –

‘The small bands look up to larger bands, but those larger bands will do everything they can to help the smaller ones. Everyone is here for the right reasons. Simple Plan, who I have loved forever, on the first day of the tour [this year] came right up to us saying, “Hey, we love your band, will you guys come on stage and sing with us tomorrow?” So now I’m singing “I’m Just A Kid” with Simple Plan during shows, and I’m like a kid in a candy store up there. There is no room for egos on this tour, and that’s why it’s going to be sad to see it go. ‘

Another Warped surprise: Pierre joined State Champs on drums in Atlanta

It is no secret that Pierre Bouvier always wanted to be a drummer – after all that’s what the whole I’m Just A Kid switcheroo on recent Simple Plan shows in based on. But what would it be like if Pierre was drumming a completely different band instead, you ask?

You can actually see for yourself! Last night at the Warped Tour show in Atlanta, GA, in the middle of the State Champs set, Pierre switched places with Evan Ambrosio, State Champs’ drummer mid-song and finished the rest of the song from behind the drumkit. Check out the awesome video Pierre published on Instagram, which documents this great moment:

State Champs release new episode of “Breakfast with Champs” feat. Pierre Bouvier

A few days ago at Warped Tour in Scranton, PA, Pierre Bouvier from Simple Plan was invited to take part in State Champs’ YouTube video series “Breakfast with Champs”, in which members of State Champs sit down with members from other bands, make breakfast together and casually talk about various topics.

In Pierre’s episode, the lead singer of Simple Plan was interviewed by State Champs’ lead singer Derek DiScanio and during the interview the pair made some delicious scrambled eggs together.

In the interview, which you can watch below, Pierre discussed a number of very interesting topics and even told some funny stories from back in the day. One of the stories that many of you will certainly be finally happy to hear is the recently teased story of how Pierre once ran naked through a hotel lobby in Indonesia. Pierre also talked about his time back in 2004, when he hosted the show Damage Control on MTV and revealed some spicy insights from the making of one of fans’ favorite videos – the legendary “Pierre’s Day Off”.

Besides all that, Derek himself revealed he’s been a fan of Simple Plan for a very long time, even remembering having a Simple Plan song as an alarm clock, when he was younger.
