Yesterday, on the Dutch version of The Voice, during the battle round, two contestants – Marco and Johannes – sang Simple Plan’s Summer Paradise together (thanks Karin for the info). Simple Plan did it!
Their single “Summer Paradise” is currently topping the charts in Europe and just recently became the most played single in all Europe , which means that Summer Paradise indeed is one Simple Plan’s most successful songs.
Also recently, the single has achieved the gold status in Austria to which Chuck already promised to come play for the local fans soon. The details of the upcoming European tour are still being worked on and hopefully we should be able to see SP in the old continent at the end of the year (although there are rumours saying it might be slightly moved to early 2013),
Even though so far we’ve all thought that Simple Plan will stop touring at the end of the year (after the yet-to-be-announced European tour in November/December) and will take a short break to get ready to work on the next album, Chuck has just given the fans a little faith that there still may be some overseas shows at the beginning of 2013!
With the sudden explosion of Summer Paradise all over the British radios, Simple Plan are extremely happy that their latest single is doing so well over there – mostly when in the past couple of years, Britain has been avoiding playing this band a lot. Yet still Simple Plan need their local fans to get active and even more supportive and buy their single on iTunes as well. Chuck has even promised that if the single continues going really well over there, the fans may expect a huge tour across the United Kingdom in early 2013!
That would mean the European tour would (yet again) be split into two halves: one (continental one) at the end of 2012 and the UK one in 2013.
Thanks to Camille I’ve learned that on Saturday when Simple Plan played in Levis, Canada at Festiventu, they also included a little French part during their performance of Summer Paradise. It is the first time that the band has played the French version of this song live and you can check out a recording of it below:
Although it will already be a year in a couple of months that Simple Plan released their single “Summer Paradise”, it still receives an enormous success in the whole world.
After a couple of platinum certificates, we’ve learnt (thanks to Chuck’s tweet) that “Summer Paradise” is currently the 4th most played single on European radios!
Also, in the last couple of days, “Summer Paradise” has finally arrived to the British radios that have been avoiding playing Simple Plan for the past few years.
All these are extremely good news – mostly for Europeans – because they ensure the band of the fact that they are indeed wanted on this continent and the announcement of the European tour (for fall) is just around the corner – the guys are currently finalizing the last details of the tour!
