New edition of “Get Your Heart On!” to be released in France

In just a couple of days, Simple Plan’s 4th studio album “Get Your Heart On!” will already celebrate its 1st anniversary. You probably already know that ever since the record’s first edition (the general one, sold in most countries of the world) came out, Simple Plan kept on releasing new versions of many of their songs, most notably Jet Lag and Summer Paradise.

Since the band has recorded the French version of Jet Lag, featuring Marie-Mai, France has had their own special edition for a while, including this particular version of the song as a bonus track.

But as Simple Plan have recently recorded another French variant of one of their songs – this time Summer Paradise (feat. Sean Paul), it was time to update this French edition with a new one. That’s why starting July 2012, the French fans can pick up their new release of Get Your Heart On!, which will most probably include (as bonus tracks) not only the French version of Jet Lag (feat. Marie-Mai) but this time also the French version of Summer Paradise, which has so far only appeared in a physical form as a single (thanks Helene for the info).

Acoustic session in Sapa, Vietnam

On Sunday evening, the members of Simple Plan left Hanoi in a night train and headed to Sapa, Vietnamu, where they spent the next two days walking around the countryside, learning more about human trafficking and filming a special documentary about this issue for MTV EXIT.

The guys posted a couple of pictures of themselves there – and you can check them out all by clicking on the images below:

Apart from that, on their first day in Sapa, on Monday, Simple Plan played a little acoustic set for the local people. They performed I’d Do Anything, Welcome To My Life and Summer Paradise – and I definitely reccommend you all to watch these videos, as you’ll see how even in such a distant and different place, people still know the lyrics to Summer Paradise :)

Simple Plan to release a music video for the French version of Summer Paradise

Trying to count all the versions of all the songs from Get Your Heart On! is starting to get really tough. And the music videos are not very far behind. When it comes to Jet Lag, we were already able to see the English version (with Natasha Bedingfield), French version (with Marie-Mai), Chinese version (with Kelly Cha) and also another English one (with the Indonesian band Kotak).

Also Summer Paradise already got a few versions of its music videos: we could already check out the Australian version and then also the one from Barbados with Sean Paul.

And now it looks like Simple Plan won’t be stopping with just these two versions! According to Chuck, the band should soon be releasing a music video for the French version of Summer Paradise, which we already heard a couple weeks ago. But it’s probable that the video will consist of the same shots we already saw in the version from Barbados.

Simple Plan nominated for two MMVAs!

The Canadian music station Much Music has revealed the nominations for this year’s annual Much Music Video Awards and the Simple Plan fans can be very proud because their band has scored two nominations!

The first nomination that Simple Plan are in, is in the category “Best International Video By A Canadian” – for their music video for the song “Astronaut”, directed by Mark Staubach. In this category they will be competing against Justin Bieber, Avril Lavigne, Drake and Nickelback.

Their second nomination was the fans’ doing because Simple Plan have (yet again) received a nomination for “UR FAVE VIDEO”, for their music video for “Summer Paradise”, directed by Randall “RT” Thorn and Mark Staubach. Here, in order to win against Carly Rae Jepsen, Drake, Hedley and Marianas Trench, YOU can help them by voting every day on the MuchMusic website.

Congratulations!

Whether Simple Plan wins or not we will find out on June 17th 2012 when the MMVAs take place in Canada. Unfortunately, the band will not be able to attend the event this year, as they are still touring Australia at that time.

“Summer Paradise” in the Australian version of The Voice

The Australian version of the singing competition show The Voice has a very impressive variety of coaches, which include Seal, Delta Goodrem (who you may remember from one of the versions of the music video for “Save You”), Keith Urban and Joel Madden from Good Charlotte. Their job is to mentor the contestants who get into their teams throughout the whole journey of the show.

One of Seal’s protégés is 26-years-old Sam Ludeman, who performed a cover version of a Simple Plan song in the last night’s episode of the song. And what other song than “Summer Paradise” it could be, when this song has already become Australia’s summer anthem, and has managed to stay at the tops of local music charts for weeks.

After Chuck from Simple Plan had heard about one of their songs being played on The Voice, he contacted Sam himself via Twitter, congratulated him on his performance and invited him and the coaches from The Voice for their upcoming concert in Sydney, Australia.

Below you can noww check out Sam Ludeman’s version of “Summer Paradise” that he performed with at The Voice yesterday (thanks to SPB.com for the link):
