Second San Francisco show and new San Diego date added to U.S. No Pads tour!

Even though it didn’t seem like it at first after Simple Plan’s show in San Francisco sold-out in less than a week, Simple Plan managed to pull some strings and made a second San Francisco show happen just 2 days after the first sold-out one! And not only that! Seeing how big the demand for the No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls tour is in the California area, the band added a brand new show in San Diego as well!

Tickets for both these new dates go on sale this Friday, 10 am local time.

Another sold-out U.S. show: San Francisco!

If you’re going… to San Francisco… in April and forgot to purchase the tickets to the Simple Plan show at The Fillmore Theatre, I’ve got some bad news for you: the show is now officially sold-out!

The final U.S. show of Simple Plan’s No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls 15th anniversary tour with Seaway and Set It Off, which will take place on April 15th, is the second show of the tour that has been sold-out since the tickets went on sale this past Friday. However, while Simple Plan had a day off in their schedule after the Chicago show to make a second show in the city possible, it seems like this won’t be the case with San Franscisco [keep checking back if anything changes, though!]. VIP upgrades to both sold-out shows are still available.

In the meantime, if you still don’t have your tickets to the U.S. tour, make sure to act quickly – most venues are of the same size as Chicago and San Francisco (1000-2000 in capacity) and are expected to sell out soon as well. You don’t want to miss out on this tour, trust me! Check out all the tourdates here.

Simple Plan announce NPNHJB anniversary tour in the U.S.

As many of you might have guessed by the No Pads picture overload in the past few days, Simple Plan had a very big surprise up their sleeve for their old-school fans.

Simple Plan’s debut album’s 15th anniversary is coming up on March 19th and to celebrate this milestone, the band has decided to embark on a special tour, during which they will be playing the No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls album in its entirety plus some more fan favorites! The tour will kick off on March 19th in the U.S. [and to answer many of your questions: according to Chuck, the guys are hoping to bring this tour worldwide, so let’s just wait and see till more future announcements about other countries].

What will certainly make lots of U.S. fans happy is the fact that unlike their short tour in October, this time around the band will hit 19 cities in total all over the U.S. And what more – Simple Plan will be accompanied by two great opening bands – Set It Off and Seaway. Tickets go on sale on Friday.

Check out all the tourdates here.

Below, you can read Simple Plan’s official statement regarding this very exciting tour:

It’s hard to believe that this year, we will be celebrating the 15th anniversary of our debut album “No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls”. To commemorate this very special milestone, we are extremely excited to announce that we will be heading out on tour performing our entire first album all over the US. Even cooler, the tour kicks off on March 19th, the exact date the album came out, back in 2002.

These last 15 years have been an incredible journey for us. From rehearsing and writing songs in our parents’ basements to selling millions of albums and playing shows all over the world, we got to live so many of our dreams and we couldn’t be more grateful. The best part is that we got to do it all with the same 5 friends who started the band together; we couldn’t be more proud of that.

After releasing our 5th album last year and playing more than 100 shows in over 40 countries, we felt it was important take this opportunity to look back and celebrate the amazing adventure we’ve had as a band and as friends. It felt important to do something special, something we’ve never done before to mark this landmark in our lives. This is why we wanted to do this tour. “No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls” changed everything for us and we are so excited to play all these songs again and relive a time in our lives full of so many amazing memories.

More than anything, we wanted to do this tour for you, our fans, who have been there since day one supporting us. So many of you have told us how much these songs have meant to you over the years and how this record had a big impact on your lives. We hope these shows can make you feel like you’re just a kid again, make you want to sing your heart out and bring you back to a time where nothing mattered except listening to music, hanging out with friends and going to concerts.

2017 is gonna be an amazing year of celebration and we really hope you’ll be able to join us for these very unique shows!

See you soon!

Pierre, Chuck, Sebastien, Jeff and David.

Simple Plan confirm new Xmas song soon & next U.S. tour for spring 2017!

A couple days ago, while in Indiana for the Pretty In Pink event, Pierre, Seb and Jeff gave an interview to 97.3 WMEE. In this interview the guys mentioned various fun things such as their favorite past Halloween costumes, their favorite hockey team, but things got a little more interesting when the interview turned to what Simple Plan have up their sleeves for next year.

Given how successful Simple Plan’s U.S. tour in October was, after selling out almost every venue they played at, the band has decided not to wait much longer to return to the U.S. and revealed that they are in fact already planning to come back and according to this interview that tour should happen in spring 2017. Rumor also has it that the band previously stated in other interviews back in California that the tour should take place even sooner – in February [however this is yet to be confirmed]. And this time around, this tour should cover more U.S. cities and states than the October one.

Check out what Jeff said about the U.S. tour in this interview:

Jeff: “There are rumors.. We just had an amazing U.S. tour, you know. It was mostly sold-out. It did really really well. It was a killer tour. And we haven’t been here for a while, so it was cool to reconnect with our fans. So it kinda gave us a taste of touring here and it’s so fun! Like, you’re right close to home and it’s… We’ve toured a lot in the U.S., we have a lot of friends here, so we’re talking about maybe coming back here in spring. So doing a more extensive tour. You know, we did two, three weeks of touring, a bunch of acoustic shows. But this time around we’d like to go, you know, from coast to coast and just check out places that we haven’t been on this particular tour. So definitely sooner than the usual three years that we take between tour. We’re gonna be here a lot sooner.”

Another confirmation that this interview has given us is that Simple Plan are most definitely releasing a new Christmas song soon! Alright, the band hasn’t directly said it’s a new Christmas song, but given the amount of hints, it’s pretty clear they have a new Xmas song in mind. Also, even though Pierre declined to reveal the title of the song to the interviewer, if nothing’s changed, we already know the title – and we’ve known for a while. Back in fall of last year, Simple Plan mentioned in a webchat that they plan on releasing a Christmas song called “Christmas Every Day” the following year – that means right in time for Christmas 2016! You don’t fool us, Pierre! :)

Pierre: “We have a new song coming out soon! It’s kind of a “gift” or a “present”. ”
Interviewer: “What’s it called?”
Pierre: “Can’t tell you. The only hint I can tell you is: It’s a “present”.”
Interviewer: […] “Is it gonna come out for Christmas?”
Band: *acts like they don’t know but they really do*
