This may come as a little disappoinment to some of those attending the Simple Plan show in Harrisburg, PA in a week (July 18th) which is a part of 99.3 KISS FM’s Summer Break event [more info on this show can be found here], but the Simple Plan acoustic show will be featuring only 2 out of 5 members of Simple Plan – namely just Pierre and Sebastien (thanks to Lauren and Gabrielle for the info).
No further information on why the rest of the band won’t be present has been released yet.
It’s been years since Simple Plan have done a regular show in the United States – but they never forgot about their loyal US fans! It has just been announced by the FED LIVE venue that Simple Plan will be performing acoustically in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania only in a couple of weeks – on July 18th 2013! It will be quite an intimate show as the venue’s capacity is 500 people. Also, according to the organisers, an age restriction has been set for the show – for 21+.
The opening acts should be A Great Big World and Chris Wallace.
So far it is unknown whether the band is planning any more US dates. Keep checking back, I’ll keep you posted.
The boy got up early in the morning today to play another little acoustic set in Green Bay, Wisconsin – this time at the Fox 11 station, during the Good Day Wisconsin programme. In the gallery you can see a couple of pictures from the show and backstage:
And here (thanks to Lenka) you can check out Simple Plan’s full performance on Good Day Wisconsin:
Yesterday, after one canceled flight, the boys finally made it to Green Bay, WI (in the United States) where they were scheduled to perform an acoustic set and do a little meet&greet with their local fans at the WIXX radio. The only person missing there was (as usual per acoustic shows) Chuck, because as a drummer, he is really not very needed at these sort of shows. That of course didn’t stop the band from mentioning him at the stage here and there, mostly joking that he’s probably watching over them online anyway, judging the setlist and everything.
Here you can check out many pictures from this acoustic show and from the follow-up meet&greet:
Simple Plan played 5 songs in total: I’d Do Anything, Welcome To My Life, Addicted, Summer Paradise and Perfect.
Although between Addicted and Summer Paradise, they also did a very little cover of Sugar Ray’s “Under The Sun” and Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend”. I definitely reccomend you to listen to the audio (sorry, the video is missing) taken by Lenka as it features the whole acoustic performance. Although the sound is kind of poor during the songs, it’s very clear during the parts where the boys joke around, do the covers, answer the host’s questions and discuss everything from nobody understanding Sean Paul’s lyrics in Summer Paradise to the Olympic games’ opening ceremony. Make sure to check it out:.
After a very long time, the Simple Plan fans from the USA will finally have a chance to see the band live again – or at least some of them, as the tickets for this event are only win-to-get-in. Simple Plan will be performing acoustically on July 30th in Green Bay, WI at the WIXX Atrium and their whole performance will be streamed live on WIXX.com.
