You can always bet that every year on Warped Tour, there will be at least one surprise act that will announce his special appearance for a selected number of Warped dates. And this year, the final year, Warped Tour has been graced with the presence of the legend that is Joan Jett, who was a surprise addition only for one Warped date – the Warped show in Noblesville, IN on July 24th.
Joan Jett of course didn’t just stop at performing, she also decided to check out some of the other acts that Warped Tour has brought to Noblesville and one of the sets she came to see was Simple Plan. The guys from the band even got to hang out with her a bit backstage, which has been documented both on a few pictures [see them in the gallery here] and also on the following video, published on the band’s Instagram Stories.
Simple Plan were extremely honored to get to meet Joan Jett, as they explained in a post on Instagram:
Yep, this happened! 🙌🏻🙏🏻 Punk legend Joan Jett made a very special guest appearance at the Vans Warped Tour […] in Indiana and decided to come check our show, along with her entire Blackhearts band!
It was an amazing and surreal experience to have such a rock and roll icon and a true punk rock pioneer watch us play and we were so honored. Thank you, Joan! 🖤 You made this final Warped Tour summer even more special! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Warped Tour still continues rolling through the United States and in the past couple of days, Simple Plan and tons of other bands visited states like Ohio, Michigan and Illinois. A lot of things have happened at these Warped shows and what else can recap these moments better for us than videos!
In this post, I’d like to point out some specific videos worth checking out, which will give you a little more insight into what went on on Warped Tour – all from very different points of view! Now, let’s get to it:
On stage with 3OH!3
Even if you’re into just one band in particular on Warped Tour, the rule is you always have to go and check out other bands’ sets as well, if only for the reason that you never know what might happen and who might appear on the stage beside them as a special surprise.
And that is exactly why the attendees of the recent 3!OH3 shows did not lose out! In the last few days, both in Detroit and Chicago (Tinley Park), some members of Simple Plan (and other bands) made a special guest appearance on the 3OH!3 stage, surprising their crowd with Sebastien’s and Chady’s guitar skills, Jess’ (The Summer Set) drumming skills and Pierre & Travis (We The Kings) also showed off their singing… and mopping skills. Below we bring you Danny Vance’s (SP’s tour manager) Instagram Stories of Pierre and Travis mopping the 3OH!3 set mid-song and on the second video, you can see them actually doing some actual proper work by joining 3OH!3 during their hit song ‘Don’t Trust Me’:
In the past few days, Simple Plan have been applauding the incredible atmosphere that their fans have created during the shows on Warped Tour. Thanks to Chady’s camera footage, they have been able to put together some of the best moments of the most recent shows into two new videos, which you can check out below.
The first video captures a beautiful moment during ‘Perfect’ yesterday in Chicago (Tinley Park) and the second one is a mix of moments from multiple recent Warped shows to the sounds of ‘Addicted’:
And finally, we cannot forget the person who’s kept us updated from the inside with what has the band been up to behind the scenes of Warped Tour for a while now: Peter John, the Australian filmmaker, who’s been touring with Simple Plan on Warped Tour this year and giving us little insights of their tour life.
Check out his most recent video updates (#15-#18) below:
On Wednesday night, while in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Simple Plan pulled out the big guns with their now already traditional on-stage surprise guests during ‘I’m Just A Kid’. This time around, the band invited two members of one of the most popular current pop-punk band – State Champs.
The lead singer of State Champs Derek DiScanio and bassist Ryan Scott Graham absolutely rocked the song and later on expressed their excitement over performing with Simple Plan on social media. Check out a photo of State Champs performing with Simple Plan in our gallery and of course make sue to watch the performance on the video below:

For the one-off stop in Canada of the final Vans Warped Tour, Simple Plan decided to treat their fellow Canadian fans with another new surprise guest during I’m Just A Kid. After having invited musicians like Travis Clark (We The Kings), Yungblud, Nate Motte (3OH!3), Jenna McDougall (Tonight Alive), Jaret Reddick (Bowling For Soup) and most recently Awsten Knight (Waterparks) with the honor of singing one of the band’s most notorious hits in North America, in Toronto, Simple Plan asked one of their newest buddies Rob Damiani from the British band Don Broco on stage alongside Travis Clark from We The Kings.
Check out Rob’s and Travis’ vocal support during I’m Just a Kid, while Chuck stagedived into the crowd and Pierre got ahold of the drumset:
Big thanks to our “overseas correspondent” Andrew from the Czech Republic, who happened to attend the Warped Tour date in Hartford, CT, we found out that last night the attendees of the Bowling For Soup set were pleasantly surprised when the band invited Pierre Bouvier from Simple Plan on stage.
Pierre joined Bowling For Soup for their song ‘Ohio (Come Back To Texas)’ and since Andrew managed to film this special appearance on camera and send it to us today, you can now check out this exclusive footage from last night in Hartford. Check out how Pierre did below:
