What’s next for Simple Plan?

The time has come again when Simple Plan are taking a little time off to gain strength after months and months of hard-core touring and trying to spend that precious time by resting, doing stuff they enjoy doing and spending time with their familes.

So what other interesting things have the guys been up to in the last few weeks? Chuck and Pierre are still in LA, working on new songs for the upcoming EP and also taking some time off from all the writing for SP by… well… doing some more writing! This time for These Kids Wear Crowns, a fellow Canadian band, with whom Pierre and Chuck co-wrote some stuff yesterday. Meanwhile, on the other side of the continent, Sebastien has also been busy writing music with a couple of artists in the studio along with his brother Jay – most recently with MTL Band (check out the new picture in the gallery!).

Yes, the guys are all very far away from each other right now and there is not much happening these days, but have no worries – that will all change very very soon and we will be getting tons of new updates!

Simple Plan are currently very close to coming up with a new music video – for This Song Saved My Life which has been in works for a couple months now and the premiere has been delayed due to having to get all the clearances and permissions needed to feature all the fans’ content. And while waiting for the clip, we should be getting some updates about SP very soon: Chuck and Patrick Langlois should be taking part of a celebrity hockey match this Sunday in Montreal -> update: according to Patrick, he won’t be at this event in the end, but Chuck should. Next week, the whole band will be heading to Indonesia to play at the Viva La Vida event for ANTV that will also be streamed live on the Internet.

Believe it or not but before Simple Plan head to China where they will continue with their short Asian tour this spring, they will be flying back to Montreal to take part in the Canadian Music Week. And that will be quite exciting! Not only will Chuck Comeau be speaking at two of the panels, but Simple Plan will be awarded with the Allan Slaight Humanitarian Spirit Award for their on-going charitable efforts with the Simple Plan Foundation. The Canadian Radio Music Awards are also a part of the Canadian Music Week and there Simple Plan are nominated with Summer Paradise in the “SOCAN Song Of The Year” category – and YOU can help them win this award by casting a vote here. After that, the guys will get back to Asia for the rest of March and the beginning of April to perform for their fans in China and Japan.

So get ready for a lot of Simple Plan action in the coming weeks!
