Lyrical collaborations

MÖTLEY CRÜE

American heavy-metal band
Song: “If I Die Tomorrow” from the album “Red, White & Crüe”

+ This song was originally written by Simple Plan when recording the album SNGA with their producer Bob Rock. However, the band did not feel like the song fit with the rest of the songs, so later Bob Rock offered it to the band Mötley Crüe. The bass player Nikki Sixx then changed it a little bit and then Mötley Crüe released it as their new single on their best hits album in 2005.

FABER DRIVE

Canadian pop-rock band
Songs: “G-Get Up And Dance” and “Our Last Goodbye” from the album “Can’t Keep A Secret”, “Do It In Hollywood”, “Too Little, Too Late” and “Set It Off” from the album “Lost In Paradise”

+ Chuck and Pierre have met up with their long-time friends from the band Faber Drive a couple of times in 2009 and helped them write a couple of songs for their second studio album called “Can’t Keep A Secret”. One of the songs they wrote together – “G-Get Up And Dance” – has even become the first single. In the following years, Chuck and Pierre continued co-writing some more with Faber Drive for their third record called “Lost In Paradise”, for which they also wrote a few songs.

ALL TIME LOW

American pop-punk band
Song: “Time Bomb” from the album “Dirty Work”

+ This song has been originally written in the writing process for Simple Plan’s album “Get Your Heart On!”, but the members felt the song didn’t really sound like a Simple Plan song. At that time, the band was already working with Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low (who’s singing on “Freaking Me Out”) and offered the song to them. All Time Low then changed a few lines and released it as their second single from their album “Dirty Work”.

THE NEW CITIES

Canadian synth-pop band
Song: “Love Me Deadly” from the album “Kill The Lights”

+ Simple Plan have been friends with The New Cities ever since touring together across Canada – David from Simple Plan even tends to play drums on their song „Looks Minus Substance“ when he’s in the area where the band’s playing. On September 27th 2011, The New Cities released their second album – „Kill The Lights“, on which you can find a song called „Love Me Deadly“, which has been co-written by Pierre and Chuck from Simple Plan.

BIG TIME RUSH

American pop boy-band
Song: “Paralyzed” from the album “Elevate” (website version)

+ One of the songs that Pierre and Chuck wrote with Matt Squire in the process of making their album “Get Your Heart On!”, was the song called “Paralyzed”. Eventually though, the song didn’t make it to the 4th Simple Plan record, and it’s been offered to other artists. American boy-band called Big Time Rush accepted it and made its own version that was even featured in one of the episodes of their self-titled TV series. The song was supposed to be also featured on their 2011 album “Elevate” (at least according to the official website’s version of the album) but the actual album does not include it.

AMASIC / STORY UNTOLD

Canadian band
Song: “If I Had One Dollar” from the EP “The Things We Say” and “History” from the EP “Story Untold”

+ After a few shows together, the young Canadian band called Amasic, who’s members are also big fans of Simple Plan, finally had the opportunity in fall 2013 to co-write a couple of songs with Chuck and Pierre from Simple Plan. The song called “If I Had One Dollar” ended up as a part of Amasic’s EP – “The Things We Say” (2014). In 2016, the band made some changed in its line-up and changed its name to Story Untold. With this new name, the band released a self-titled EP, which included another song co-written by Pierre and Chuck – “History”.
