New school in Congo built thanks to Simple Plan

This is not the first time we’ve mentioned the charitable organisation called War Child in relation to Simple Plan. In the past, for example thanks to the campaign called “One Brick At A Time”, by selling special bracelets Simple Plan and War Child manaed to raise enough money to build two new schools in Kongo. Next, some of the funds raised by Young Artists For Haiti and their song “Wavin” Flag” (which Pierre Bouvier was a part of), went also to War Child, as well as the money that Sebastien raised during his “Busking For Change” sessions, when he played acoustically in the Montreal subway.

You may also remember last December, when Simple Plan and War Child started another campaign. This time, the organisation’s goal was to raise money to support the education of children in the Third World, by selling wallets designed by artists like Simple Plan, Moby or Cyndi Laupner.

Once again, this War Child’s project was a huge success: Simple Plan have just posted this beautiful picture that War Child sent them all the way from Congo, where a new school was built – with a huge help from Simple Plan. On the picture you can see the children from Congo forming a “Thank you Simple Plan” sign:

This is what the members of Simple Plan had to say about this cause:

“I’m so proud of what we did together in Congo.” Jeff Stinco

“So proud of helping War Child build a school in the Congo! This photo speaks a thousand words!” Pierre Bouvier
