Only two weeks after the announcement of the Simple Plan show in Paris, France on June 17th, the ticket-holders received a notice that the show has been canceled. The following statement from the band has been posted on the official website:
It is with great regret that we announce the cancellation of our show on June 17th at Bataclan in Paris. Due to unforseen family reasons we are unable to be present at this show. We are obviously very disappointed and we want to apologize to all our French fans who planned to attend the concert. It is only a postponement: we will return to Paris and to all of France soon and we are already looking forward to seeing you! Sorry again and thank you, Simple Plan fans, for your outstanding support for over 10 years.
Yes, more European tourdates are here! It has been announced today that Simple Plan will be playing at Le Bataclan in Paris, France on June 17th (thanks Hélène and Jude for the information). The tickets go on sale in two days.
On July 17th, Simple Plan have re-released their latest album “Get Your Heart On!” in the French-speaking territories – that is mostly France and Canada – but this time with the version of the album that is considered to be deluxe (as mentioned in the post a couple weeks ago).
In comparison to the regular version of the album, this deluxe version includes the French version of Jet Lag and 3 versions of Summer Paradise: one feat. K’Naan, one feat. Sean Paul and then the French one feat. Sean Paul.
Although according to Sab, the French version of Summer Paradise that is featured on this deluxe version of the album is different from the one that we are used to as some of the lyrics have been changed. For example “Dehors la neige ne cesse de tomber” is replaced by “Le froid s’en prend à Montreal”.
Here you can check out the full tracklisting of this deluxe version of “Get Your Heart On!”, which is available for purchase for example via Archambault.ca :

On Saturday, the Canadian singer Marie-Mai, who you all know as the original singer of the French version of Jet Lag, performed in France, where she was opening for Johnny Hallyday (thanks Helene for the info).
During this concert on Stade de France (the biggest stadium in France) she performed not only her own original songs, but she also included Simple Plan’s Jet Lag. And while Simple Plan could not be there (because of their Australian tour), Pierre’s voice has been replaced for Fred St-Gelais‘, who is not only a Canadian musician, songwriter and producer, but also Marie-Mai’s husband.
You can check out their own version of Jet Lag (this time without Simple Plan) on this video at mark 3:28:
