Simple Plan announce more shows for 2024: Brazil sideshow, European festivals and another When We Were Young!

2024 is already shaping up to be quite the tour year for Simple Plan! As you all already know, the beginning of the year will be dedicated to their first headlining tour with Harder Than It Looks and they will be bringing it to Europe in January and February. After that, SP will finally make a grand return to Brazil in March, after which they will head over to Australia in April. And in June and July the guys will be back in Europe for the summer festival season.

Now, recently, Simple Plan announced a few more dates for 2024! So, let’s have a look at them.

First, Simple Plan added an I Wanna Be Tour sideshow in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as their Sao Paulo on March 1st, I Wanna Be Tour date a day later sold-out within just a few hours. This is a great way to see Simple Plan on their own smaller headlining show before the bigger festival type of gigs in Brazil with the I Wanna Be Tour, which comprises of multiple bands on the line-up.

Another additions on the 2024 tourlist are some new festival dates in Europe: Simple Plan added some dates in France, Netherlands and Italy, which means they will be staying in Europe at least until the beginning of July, meaning there will very likely be more European dates in the beginning of July.

And finally! The extremely successful When We Were Young festival will be repeated next year again and after this year’s excellent two shows, the SP boys will of course be back for the 2024 edition. While We Were Young will take place on October 19th (which has already sold-out) and also 20th in Las Vegas. Oh, and one more exciting bit: all bands present at the festival will be playing one chosen album in full – Simple Plan picked their debut album, No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls. Exciting!

Here’s a recap of the newly added dates:

1/MAR/2024 – I Wanna Be tour – Sao Paulo, Brazil

26/JUN/2024 – Festival de Nîmes – Nîmes, France

28/JUN/2024 – Jera On Air Festival – Ysselsteyn, Netherlands

07/JUL/2024 – I-Days – Milan, Italy

19/OCT/2024 – When We Were Young – Las Vegas, NV, USA – SOLD-OUT

20/OCT/2024 – When We Were Young – Las Vegas, NV, USA

Simple Plan’s European tour begins to sell-out – band adds extra Paris date

It’s been less than a month that Simple Plan announced their upcoming European tour for January and February of next year and given it’s their first headlining tour in years, of course the tickets started immediately flying off the imaginary shelves of ticketing companies.

As of right now, 5 shows of the tour – Paris (January 19th and 20th), Munich (January 26th), Antwerp (February 7th) and Bristol (February 13th) – are already sold-out. Lucky for the French fans, not only they had two Paris shows to choose from to begin with, but given the extraordinary demand, they decided to add another extra show in Paris on January 18th, making them appear in France three times on this tour.

If you still don’t have tickets for this tour, we strongly recommend you purchasing them as soon as possible (find the links here). There are only a handful days off on this tour and it is highly unlikely the band would be adding any more extra dates. See you on tour!

Simple Plan return to Europe: first festival setlist is here!

Simple Plan are back on the road and as per usual, they decided to spend the first half of June performing at European festivals! The first one the band hit tonight was in Lyon, France, where the first ever French edition of Slam Dunk (the original UK festival) took place this year. And we already have the setlist!

Now, be mindful that Simple Plan only had a 40-minute time slot at Slam Dunk France, hence why the setlist only includes 9 songs. Throughout their European run this June, the band will also be playing longer setlist (which are yet to be revealed), as they do have some longer time slots at different festivals (for instance at Rock For People in the Czech Republic, they should be playing for 75 minutes.

Check out Simple Plan’s setlist from Slam Dunk France below:

  1. I’d Do Anything
  2. Shut Up
  3. Jump!
  4. Welcome to My Life
  5. Jet Lag
  6. Iconic
  7. Where I Belong
  8. I’m Just a Kid
  9. Perfect

Simple Plan announced for more festivals in 2023 – plans include Europe, Asia and the U.S!

Hold on to your hats, Simple Plan fans! 2023 will be a big touring year for the band! Let’s have a recap of all we know so far and also reveal some of the new additions to the tour plan!

First of all, the band will be stopping by in Asia early next year – it has been announced that they will be part of the Everblast Festival line-up, which will take place from March 4th to 5th in Jakarta, Indonesia. Besides Simple Plan, fans will also get to see acts like Hoobastank or The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. You can check out more info about the festival here. Given how far Asia is, it is very likely that this won’t be SP’s only stop on the continent. We’ll keep you posted once we know more!

Now let’s move on to the summer – that part of the year will (at least partly) belong to Europe! After already announcing their appearance at the Nova Rock festival in Austria (June 7th 2023), Simple Plan have just been also added to the line-up of next year’s Download Festival in the UK (June 8th 2023) and they will also appear at the first ever Slam Dunk Festival in Italy (June 2nd 2023) and France (June 3rd 2023).

And so far, it looks like the end of the year will all about the U.S. again, since Simple Plan are scheduled for at least one show there so far – the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas (October 21st 2023). Unfortunately, tickets to this festival are already sold-out.

Simple Plan change up setlist in Bordeaux and Bilbao – add Iconic!

Simple Plan are currently on tour in Europe supporting Sum 41 and after the first show’s setlist was revealed, some fans felt a little let down over the amount of songs from SP’s new album ‘Harder Than It Looks’, as the original setlist for the first few shows included only one song from this record – ‘Wake Me Up (When This Nightmare’s Over)’.

Of course, given the status of an opening band, it’s understandable that the band only has a fairly limited time to perform, but even so, they still try to fit in as many hits as possible on the setlist.

As we’ve mentioned in the previous article, though, there was a strong possibility the band would switch things up during the tour, so that every show would not be as predictable, as exactly that happened in Bordeaux, France and Bilbao, Spain. According to the fans from both of these shows, Simple Plan switched ‘Wake Me Up’ for another HTIL song – ‘Iconic’. Also, they had to cut the setlist by one song and did not perform ‘What’s New Scooby Doo’ – this might again change at future shows though.
