Last minute change: SP added French version of Jet Lag to Geneva’s setlist

The last show of the month May was reserved for Geneva, Switzerland, where the members of Simple Plan also had a well-deserved day off the day before. And with their tour manager Danny Vance finally back for this show [and the rest of the tour], the band was now 110% ready to kick off another successful No Pads show.

Since the opening bands will be switching up quite a lot on this European tour, it’s important to note that for the first time on this European tour, The Bottom Line were not performing and were replaced by another British band – Milestones (however Callum Amies from The Bottom Line still continues being a crew member for SP). Mallory Knox were still on, though – as they will be for most of the tour.

As expected, since it was a show in a French-speaking territory, the whole show was in French. With that said, Pierre apparently tried to use as little of his Québécois accent as he could, as some French-speaking Europeans might not have understood him otherwise.

When it comes to the overall atmosphere, the show wasn’t as packed with crowdsurfers and moshers as the previous two shows in Germany, but there was one crowdsurfer, who after almost being dropped eventually ended up being carried out of the crowd in Danny’s arms. That crowdsurfer was Chuck… obviously.

If you look at the picture of the setlist (provided by Yva – thanks!), your first guess might be that nothing has changed since Germany. But looks can be deceiving. What happened was Simple Plan decided to add one more song to the setlist on the last minute – right in between Your Love Is A Lie and Summer Paradise – and that was the French version of Jet Lag!

Watch a video that captures this song here:

Simple Plan show at Rock Am Ring to be livestreamed online!

Tomorrow, on June 2nd, Simple Plan will be performing at the German Rock Am Ring festival at the Beck’s Park Stage from 6:30 to 7:30pm. And if you didn’t manage to score a ticket for this sold-out festival, there is still a way for you to check out Simple Plan’s performance online!

That’s right – the two main stages of Rock Am Ring will be livestreamed online on www.rock-am-ring.com!

According to the report from the promoters of RAR, Deutsche Telekom will also be showing Rock am Ring exclusively in a 360° HD Livestream on www.magenta-musik-360.de and EntertainTV, which will be recorded on twenty HD and four 360° cameras.

PHOTO: Chuck rocks the special SimplePlan.cz pin

If you’ve been following SimplePlan.cz on social media (Instagram, Twitter and Facebook), then you know that for about a year now, SimplePlan.cz has it’s own limited edition of pins.

These very special purple & pink pins are not available for purchase. Instead, they are being awarded to some of the best contributors of information, photos and other stuff for this website, are handed out to the attendees of SimplePlan.cz meet-ups, to SP.cz contest winners and also given out to fans, who simply ask me for them in real life. And we can’t forget the ones that some of you may find through the SimplePlan.cz scavenger hunts in various cities (follow our social media for more info when those are happening)!

Over the past few months, the pins have received absolutely amazing responses from the SP fans and it’s completely astonishing to already see so many of you proudly wearing your SP.cz pin to the Simple Plan concerts [see a gallery of some of these beautiful fans with their pins here!]!

In Berlin last Sunday, I finally had the chance to give the newest edition of the pins to the members of Simple Plan themselves, which they were very excited about. Check out this picture of Chuck [click on the image on the left for full view], who immediately tried his SimplePlan.cz pin on!

Thanks everyone for the support! I’m taking some more of these pins to the shows in London and Prague, so if you want one, don’t be afraid to ask :)
