Another acoustic show: Santiago, Chile

Simple Plan’s tour across South America is slowly coming to an end. On Thursday night, Simple Plan performed their final headlining show of the tour – in Santiago, Chile (with only one show left being a festival date in Peru today). And just like in Argentina, the fans in Chile also got to hear the special acoustic version of the band’s set.

The local band called Madvanna opened for Simple Plan in Chile and the members of both bands took a beautiful picture together backstage before the show. Check it out:

The setlist in Chile was the same as in Argentina and it looked like this:

1. Opinion Overload
2. Jet Lag
3. Jump (‚I Gotta Feeling‘ snippet)
4. I’d Do Anything
5. Boom
6. Welcome to My Life
7. Addicted
8. Your Love Is A Lie
9. Perfectly Perfect
10. Astronaut
11. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
12. Summer Paradise
13. Lucky One
14. Crazy
15. I’m Just a Kid

Encore:
16. Shut Up!
17. Perfect World

Simple Plan Foundation donating $180 000 to charities in 2016 – benefit event to take place next year

The Simple Plan Foundation, charity founded by the members of Simple Plan, has announced this year’s list of donations, which in 2016 is totalling $180 000. Overall, ever since its inception in 2005, the Simple Plan Foundation has donated 2 million dollars in total to various charities and organizations [read more about SPF and its goals here]

In 2016, Simple Plan Foundation will be donating money to “twenty charitable organizations who devote their efforts to helping young people in need or dealing with a serious illness. Among the 20 recipients, a strong emphasis has been placed on financing musical therapy programs in hospitals (Sainte-Justine, Montreal Children’s and Sick Kids in Toronto, etc.) and health organizations (The Lighthouse, Children and Families, the Fondation du Docteur Julien, etc.), as well as addressing teenage-specific issues that young people struggle with, like addiction, depression and self-esteem problems (The Portage Foundation, Les Auberges du cœur, the Mental Illness Foundation, GRIS, etc.).” You can check out the full list of the recipients of the SPF donations here.

Many fans have also expressed interest in the annual benefit event which Simple Plan treaditionally host every year (with the exception of last year, when they switched focus on the 24h Tremblant charitable event instead). It has now been revealed on the Foundation’s website that due to the band’s busy schedule in 2016, Simple Plan decided to push back this fundraising event to 2017. More details should be coming up soon.

Concerts in Halifax and Ottawa will not be rescheduled to March tour

About a month ago, Simple Plan were originally supposed to head out for their long-awaited tour across a number of cities in Canada, but due to Pierre’s vocal issues, the band was forced to reschedule some of the shows (London, Quebec City, Toronto and Montreal) to March 2017.

There were two more cities from the original November tour – Halifax and Ottawa that were still waiting for a confirmation about their rescheduling, however Simple Plan have now announced that they were unfortunately not able to find venues available around their Canadian March dates, which means they are forced the cancel these two shows in total. The fans will get a refund on their original November tickets.

Check out the full official statement from the band below:

We are extremely sorry that we haven’t be able to reschedule the Ottawa and Halifax shows and now have to cancel them. We tried very hard to find dates that would work in March, but it has proven to be impossible due to venues’ availability and our schedule. There’s nothing we hate more than disappointing our fans and this has been a very frustrating situation. We would like to apologize once again and let you know that we will do everything we can to come back and play for you as soon as possible. In the meantime, we hope that some of you can join us in Montreal, Quebec City or Toronto.

Thanks for understanding and looking forward to seeing you all very soon.

Pierre, Chuck, Sebastien, Jeff and David.

Refunds available at point of purchase.

Simple Plan perform first ever show in Paraguay: livestream, setlist & photos

The day after their show in Argentina, the guys from SP had a pretty late flight to Paraguay, where they were supposed to perform that day, which meant there was unfortunately no soundcheck for the local members of the SP Crew. Still, the band took the time at the airport to hang out with the fans, who came to welcome them to Paraguay, where Simple Plan have never been to before.

The show was once again a regular one (not acoustic, unlike the one in Argentina and the one to take place in Chile tonight) and the boys played the following setlist:

1. Opinion Overload
2. Jet Lag
3. Jump (‚I Gotta Feeling‘ snippet)
4. I’d Do Anything
5. Boom
6. Welcome to My Life
7. Addicted
8. Your Love Is A Lie
9. Perfectly Perfect
10. Party medley – Uptown Funk (Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars cover) & Can’t Feel My Face (The Weeknd cover)
11. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
12. Farewell
13. Summer Paradise
14. Crazy
15. I’m Just a Kid

Encore:
16. Shut Up!
17. Perfect World
18. This Song Saved My Life
19. Perfect

The promoter G5Pro actually streamed a part of the show live on Facebook and you can now rewatch that video, which is 40 minutes long, below:
