The Simple Plan Foundation, charity founded by the members of Simple Plan, has announced this year’s list of donations, which in 2016 is totalling $180 000. Overall, ever since its inception in 2005, the Simple Plan Foundation has donated 2 million dollars in total to various charities and organizations [read more about SPF and its goals here]

In 2016, Simple Plan Foundation will be donating money to “twenty charitable organizations who devote their efforts to helping young people in need or dealing with a serious illness. Among the 20 recipients, a strong emphasis has been placed on financing musical therapy programs in hospitals (Sainte-Justine, Montreal Children’s and Sick Kids in Toronto, etc.) and health organizations (The Lighthouse, Children and Families, the Fondation du Docteur Julien, etc.), as well as addressing teenage-specific issues that young people struggle with, like addiction, depression and self-esteem problems (The Portage Foundation, Les Auberges du cœur, the Mental Illness Foundation, GRIS, etc.).” You can check out the full list of the recipients of the SPF donations here.

Many fans have also expressed interest in the annual benefit event which Simple Plan treaditionally host every year (with the exception of last year, when they switched focus on the 24h Tremblant charitable event instead). It has now been revealed on the Foundation’s website that due to the band’s busy schedule in 2016, Simple Plan decided to push back this fundraising event to 2017. More details should be coming up soon.
