The Vikings invade Simple Plan show in Denmark

After four years, Simple Plan finally returned to Copenhagen, Denmark yesterday, where they performed another high-energy set for the local crowd. From the title of the article, you can already tell who exactly did The Bottom Line come dressed up as for their party medley stage invasion – to keep it in the traditional themed spirit, the guys couldn’t pick anything more Danish than the Vikings.

Check out the video Laura took of this moment:

The Copenhagen setlist came with no big surprises – amongst the songs the guys like to alternate were ‘Kiss Me Like Nobody’s Watching’, ‘Take My Hand’ and ‘Nostalgic’:

1. Opinion Overload
2. Jet Lag

(‘I Gotta Feeling‘ snippet)
4. I’d Do Anything
5. Boom
6. Welcome to My Life
7. Kiss Me Like Nobody’s Watching

‘Singing In The Rain’ enters TOP 40 at Hot AC radio charts in the U.S.

Simple Plan’s new single ‘Singing In The Rain’ from their new record ‘Taking One For The Team’ is moving up the U.S. charts again!

After reaching TOP 60 and TOP 50 on HOT Adult Contemporary radio charts (HOT AC) in the past few weeks, the single has just reached the TOP 40 most spinned songs on HOT AC with 358 spins per week.

Simple Plan will be heading out to the U.S. to promote their new single on radios in the June with a few acoustic sessions, some of which have already been announced. Also, according to the band, there should also be a full tour across the U.S. and Canada coming up this fall.

RECAP: Simple Plan bring in surprises for Berlin: at soundcheck and show

The capital city of Germany – Berlin – experienced quite the spectacle last night! Those, who decided to spend their Saturday night at the Astra Kulturhaus venue, had the chance to see another hot Simple Plan show on their Taking One For The Team tour. And it was one of their best yet!

For the fanclub members, the evening started with the soundcheck party, which kicked off around 4pm. The full band was present this time around and together they decided to give their fans a sneak peek at the live versions of a couple of songs they do not normally play live anymore. That’s why the fanclub members had the chance to hear a part of ‘Last One Standing’ and ‘The Worst Day Ever’, which were accompanied by loud sing-alongs from the crowd.

Check out the videos from these moments I filmed for you in Berlin:

The show itself had to start a little earlier than usual, as there was supposed to be a disco happening at the venue right after the show’s end [see the evening’s timetable on the left].

After the opening bands pumped up the crowd, Simple Plan hit the stage with another version of their ever-changing setlist on this tour. This time around, the band surprised their fans by playing one additional song as a surprise, therefore increasing the amount of songs played that evening to the even number of 20. The forementioned song was ‘Your Love Is A Lie’, which wouldn’t be such a surprise on its own, as SP have played this song on their TOFTT tour setlist before, however, they always alternated it with another song from the self-titled record – ‘Take My Hand’. At the Berlin show, though, the band decided at the very last moment to perform both songs back to back, which is why YLIAL isn’t featured on the official setlist, the guys had printed out for the show.

Check out the full setlist the band actually played below:

1. Opinion Overload
2. Jet Lag
3. Jump
(‘I Gotta Feeling‘ snippet)
4. I’d Do Anything
5. Boom
6. Welcome to My Life
7. I Refuse
8. Take My Hand
9. Your Love Is A Lie
10. Singing In The Rain
11. Party medley
(‚Uptown Funk‘ / ‚Can’t Feel My Face‘ cover)
12. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
13. Farewell
14. Summer Paradise
15. Crazy
16. I’m Just a Kid

Encore:
17. Shut Up!
18. Perfect World
19. This Song Saved My life
(no drums)
20. Perfect

Overall, the show in Berlin was even hotter and sweatier than a few nights before in Rome, and everybody seemed to be having lots of fun. During the party medley, you could even spot the paramedics standing on the sides and the security smiling and nodding their heads to the beats of ‘Uptown Funk’. When it comes to the usual The Bottom Line invasion on the Simple Plan stage during their party medley, the first opening band came in dressed as football players and started an interesting game of football right on stage.

Another surprise then came during ‘Crazy’ when Pierre decided to make his way through the crowd and end up in the front of house area, singing Crazy to the people in the back of the venue, facing his bandmates.

You can check out some of the pictures I took during the show in the gallery:
