Simple Plan set to return to the U.S. and Canada in the fall

It has been a very long time since Simple Plan have done a proper tour across the United States – if memory serves right and we don’t count Warped Tour dates, the last time Simple Plan toured the U.S. was in November 2011 with Forever The Sickest Kids, The Cab and Marianas Trench (and that wasn’t even a long tour). The past two Simple Plan records haven’t been doing very well in the U.S., which is also why the band decided to focus more on the rest of the world [returning to the U.S. only once in a while for Warped Tour or acoustic performances].

But if the past years have proved something it’s that Simple Plan still have a fanbase in the U.S. that hasn’t completely forgotten them and Simple Plan know that too. In fact, Simple Plan are aiming to release their new single “Singing In The Rain” in the U.S., which will be one of the first of their singles in years that will be aimed also at their radios/TV stations. Besides that, the band is also currently planning to get back on the road in the United States during the Taking One For The Team tour cycle – according to Chuck’s latest reply to a fan’s tweet, a U.S. Simple Plan tour should happen this fall. No further information has been revealed yet.

Update: Jeff confirmed that Simple Plan should also be heading to Canada in the fall. That means thi season seems to be reserved for a tour across the North America: both the U.S. and Canada.

As of right now, this gives us a little better understanding of Simple Plan’s plans for 2016 – they start off their TOFTT tour in Europe next week, after which they’ll head over to Japan for PunkSpring and then return home for a while. After that the band is set to head back to Europe, for what seems like either the second leg of their European tour or just spring/summer festivals. Their summer plans have not been revealed yet, but from today’s U.S./Canadian tour confirmation we may expect them head over there after summer’s over.
