Opening acts: Simple Plan in search for Finnish and Baltic dates & announce first Finnish supporting band

Simple Plan are currently on the second leg of their European tour alongside opening acts ROAM and The Bottom Line. However, it was previously stated that both bands won’t be attending all Simple Plan shows on this part of the European tour. Firstly, the festivals and secondly, they also won’t be present at the shows in Finland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

The empty spot for those dates will be filled with different bands. Laura already found out that the finnish pop-punk band MadCraft will be supporting Simple Plan on their Finnish date and are currently waiting to hear whether they will be opening for them at the Baltic shows as well. You can read more about MadCraft here.

But this whole European tour has always been about 2 opening acts before Simple Plan, which means there is still one more spot left. And here is where YOU, if you have a band and can afford to tour on your own expenses, may become interested. Simple Plan are holding a competition for opening acts for the shows in Finland and the Baltic States (May 28th – June 1st). You have until May 18th to submit your info and music and with a little luck you may become Simple Plan’s next supporting band! Check out more info about this competition here.

Simple Plan confirmed as upcoming guests on Patrick Langlois’ new summer weekend radio show

Those of you, who’s been following Simple Plan for a while surely know who Patrick Langlois is. But if you don’t, here’s a short recap:

As a friend of the guys from Simple Plan, Patrick helped the band launch their career by working as their merch manager, photographer, cameraman and website manager. For almost a decade, Patrick’s been around filming, managing and helping out his friends in SP and in 2006 him and Sebastien even started a radio show ‘Man Of The Hour‘ on idobi radio, which is still on air today. However in 2008, Patrick made the decision to leave SP, after getting an opportunity to work as a video journalist for MusiquePlus. After 4 years, Pat has moved from MusiquePlus to V Télé in 2012, where he’s been hosting various TV shows ever since.

Yesterday it was announced that while Patrick still continues to host Ménage à trois during the workweek, during this summer, he will also be taking over the radio waves – on the ÉNERGIE 94.3 Montréal radio over the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 3pm), starting May 28th.

“I love the idea of being part of BBQs, pool parties and summer weekends with the best music, my guests and a ton of surprises! I always liked doing live TV, and it is this proximity to the public that attracted me to the radio,” said Patrick Langlois. It has also already been confirmed that among the upcoming guests of Patrick’s new show will be (besides other local personalities) the members of Simple Plan, who will be reunited with their old buddy – this time live on the radio. When exactly the guys will be present on Patrick’s show has not been revealed yet.
