Simple Plan to release no rap version of ‘Singing In The Rain’ as single

For a few months now we’ve known that Simple Plan’s second single from their new record ‘Taking One For The Team’ (after ‘I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed’) will be the song ‘Singing In The Rain’. The band already also filmed a music video for the song recently, which should be coming out in a couple weeks. Before that however, the song will be distributed to the radios – but it seems it won’t be the version we’re used to from the record.

The CD version of ‘Singing In The Rain’ features the American rap duo R. City, however the recently released single version of the song on Spotify is the “no rap” version of this song – that means without the R. City featuring. The theory that this will be this version of the song in the upcoming music video and the version promoted in the radios is also supported by the time stamp that is featured on the single’s artwork [see it here], which states the song is 3:29 minutes long, while the CD version of the song (feat. R. City) is 3:43 minutes long.

Have a listen of the new “no rap” version of ‘Singing In The Rain’ below:

Which version do you like better? With or without R. City?

My colleagues over at SPB.net managed to recover a number of pictures from the photoshoot from 2002 by F. Scott Schafer, which was used as a promo photoshoot for Simple Plan’s debut album ‘No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls’, which coindidentally just recently celebrated its 14th anniversary.

Jaret (Bowling For Soup) praises new Simple Plan record

It seems it’s not just the Simple Plan fans who enjoy the band’s new record Taking One For The Team – their fellow pop punk bands do too!

In one of his most recent tweets, Jaret Reddick, the lead singer of Bowling For Soup took the time to show his appreciation of this album after having listened to it for the first time.

This comes just a few months after Jaret was heard in a recent interview asking “Where the f*** are Simple Plan?” since he hasn’t heard of his old touring friends in a while. Bowling For Soup also recently paid tribute to Simple Plan in their song ‘From The Rooftops’.
