Simple Plan to return to Europe in 2019: announced for Slam Dunk Festival!

Yes, you read that correctly!

The British music festival Slam Dunk just announced more bands for their 2019 edition’s line-up and believe it or not, Simple Plan are on the list! The band will be joining the stellar line-up of bands such as Waterparks, All Time Low, NOFX, New Found Glory, Silverstein and more on May 25th and 26th in Leeds and Hatfield respectively.

This will be the first time ever that Simple Plan will appear at this festival.

As of right now, it is unknown whether the band will have any new material ready by then, but what is very likely is that this might not be their only stop in Europe. Keep checking back on SimplePlan.cz for any other possible future European announcements!

Listen to the new Simple Plan song ‘Bigger’ from the soundtrack of the sequel to Snowtime!

Remember when some members of Simple Plan hinted earlier this year that there might be some new Simple Plan music out perhaps even this year? Well… turns out they weren’t bluffing!

You may recall that back in 2015, Simple Plan released a song called ‘The Heroes’, which was a part of the ‘Snowtime!’ (‘La Guerre des Tuques’) movie soundtrack. But what you might not have known is that due to the massive success of this movie, a sequel has been made and ‘Racetime!’ (‘La Course des Tuques’) is coming to cinemas in December 2018.

Now thanks to our reader Mymie, we first found out that once again, Simple Plan contributed with a new song on the soundtrack of this movie and it is a brand new song called ‘Bigger’. The soundtrack officially comes out today, November 16th 2018 and according to the credits on Spotify, the song was written by Fred St-Gelais.

And the best part is: if you have Spotify Premium, you can already listen to the song in full! Check out the preview below (you can also listen to the preview on iTunes!):

EDIT: Check out the full version below:

And if you are able to listen to ‘Bigger’, make sure to let us know what you think of the song below!

Bigger

Something is coming
My blood is pumping
Pure inspiration
Fueled in my imagination
My brain keeps going
Genius overflowing

Let’s make it bigger
I’ll make it jump higher

I’ll make it run faster, stronger,
Going on forever

Let’s make it bigger
(Better, faster, stronger)
Hey, hey
Let’s make it bigger
(Better, faster, stronger)
Hey, hey

Something is pushing
The limits are fading
All new creation
Reaching top acceleration

My brain keeps going
Genius overflowing

Let’s make it bigger
I’ll make it jump higher

I’ll make it run faster, stronger,
Going on forever

Let’s make it bigger
(Better, faster, stronger)
Hey, hey
Let’s make it bigger
(Better, faster, stronger)
Hey, hey

My brain keeps going
Genius overflowing
The walls keep falling
Dreams ever expanding

Let’s make it bigger
Let’s make it bigger

Let’s make it bigger
I’ll make it jump higher

I’ll make it run faster, stronger
Going on forever

Let’s make it bigger
(Better, faster, stronger)
Hey, hey

Let’s make it bigger
(Better, faster, stronger)
Hey, hey

Sebastien gives advice on how to perform ‘Beat It’ for a good cause

One of the three main objectives of the Simple Plan Foundation is to support organizations that try to help young people facing difficult problems that often come with teenagehood. In the spirit of this goal, Sebastien has teamed up with Fondation Jean Lapointe in order to help drug and alcohol addiction among the youth and got involved in their WHO’S GOT PASSION Challenge.

In this challenge, Jonathan Durocher, President of National Bank Investments Inc., will have to perform the song ‘Beat It’ by Michael Jackson with the help of two high-school singers Éléonore and Mathilde, on stage in front of 1200 people at the Grand Festin d’huîtres fund-raising event, that will be held on November 16, 2018.

Sebastien Lefebvre got involved at the rehearsal stage and decided to give the performers a few helpful advice. If you speak French, you can check them out on the video below:

Lachelle teases Pierre’s return to studio in her Instagram Stories

Many Simple Plan fans have been eagerly awaiting the important moment when Simple Plan would finally begin their work on their upcoming sixth studio album. And while we haven’t heard anything from Pierre and Chuck themselves about the beginning of the song-writing process, it looks like at least Pierre has already begun some work in his home studio last night!

His wife Lachelle posted a boomerang on her Instagram Stories last night, in which she captured Pierre’s home studio at night with the lights on, with the caption: “Studio lights on”, tagging Pierre in the story and also adding a microphone emoji. It seems that Pierre has finally returned to his studio and hopefully we will soon be getting some updates from him and from the other guys from SP too!

If you missed Lachelle’s story, check it out in a loop below:

How excited are you for Simple Plan’s new album?

Sebastien song-writing and producing in Nashville for local artists

If you’ve been following Simple Plan for a while, you know that all members of the band have various side projects and hobbies they like to use their spare time on. One of Sebastien’s hobbies is producing music – not just for Simple Plan – but also helping other young artists become better at what their do and help them write and create great songs.

And it was precisely last week that after his show with Simple Plan in Pennsylvania, Sebastien headed over to Nashville, TN for a few days, where he was invited to work with Hey World Productions’ Sean Rogers, who he had previously met on Instagram. Sean’s work in audio engineering (especially mixing and mastering) can be found on record of artists such as Lady Antebellum or Shania Twain.

Together in Nashville, Seb and Sean produced a number of songs for Ardenne and Forrest Finn. Check out what Forrest Finn had to say about his collaboration with Seb and Sean below:

“Just need to take a second to brag about these amazing people! Got to spend the weekend “working” on some songs for Ardenne as well as myself. Both Sean Rogers and Seb Lefebvre helped me dive deep and really take on the artist role that I’ve been really working to get back to the past couple months. We wrote one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written and I can’t wait to show the world. Amazing creators, better people.”

– Forrest Finn –

Besides about posting various updates about these song-writing and recording sessions on his Instagram, Seb also put together a little video of his time there which he just released yesterday. Check it out:
