YouTuber Elton Castee (TFIL) documents his on-stage moment with Simple Plan in a new vlog

Popular American YouTuber Elton Castee, who can pride himself on 1.8 million subscribers on his TFIL YouTube channel, recently published his long-awaited vlog from Warped Tour in Orlando, FL, where he got to perform with Simple Plan alongside Set It Off’s Cody Carson and Story Untold’s Janick Thibault during ‘I’m Just A Kid’ [we’ve already reported on these special on-stage appearances in this article].

In one of his latest vlogs that he released this week, Elton share the story of how he asked Simple Plan if he could be a part of their ‘I’m Just A Kid’ thing they have been doing throughout all of Warped Tour, where Chuck and Pierre switch their roles and while Chuck crowdsurfs in the crowd and Pierre drums, a number of their singer friends are invited on the stage to finish the song with a microphone in their hand.

What’s amazing is that the video Elton posted has already been viewed over 80 000 times in just 2 days since its original upload. Check it out for yourself to see Simple Plan’s special I’m Just A Kid moment from a little different point of view:

Happy birthday, Jeff!

It’s a very important day today at the residence of Simple Plan’s lead guitarist Jeff Stinco, who is celebrating his 40th birthday today! On behalf of SimplePlan.cz we’d like to wish Jeff a wonderful day with his loved ones and absolutely all the best in his life, his band and any other projects he is passionate about. We love you and wish you all the very best!

Happy birthday, Jeff!

(Don’t forget to leave Jeff a message in the comments on his Instagram, wishing him happy 40th birthday!)

Simple Plan score with 2 albums on Rock Sound’s “100 Best Pop-punk Albums” list!

For the past few days, the British magazine Rock Sound has been slowly revealing the results of their recently featured online poll, which asked music fans to vote for the best pop-punk album. Over 26 000 people voted in and decided the final positions on the list, which has now revealed to us that the public voted not just one, but two Simple Plan albums amongst the 100 Best Pop-Punk Albums!

The best-standing of their albums on this list is their debut album ‘No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls’, which ranks at no. 31, surpassing other classics like Jimmy Eat World’s ‘Bleed American’, The All-American Rejects’ ‘Move Along’ or The Offspring’s ‘Americana’!

The second Simple Plan album featured on this list is their subsequent record ‘Still Not Getting Any..’ which ranked a little lower – at no. 67!

What a great result! It definitely serves as a reassurance that Simple Plan’s music is still very much deep-seated into the minds of music fans and has clearly made an impact on the industry.

Previously, Simple Plan’s No Pads album was featured on a list published by Kerrang back in 2015, where it placed as the 26th “Greatest Pop-Punk Album Ever”. Similarly in 2017, Rolling Stone called this album 33rd “Greatest Pop-Punk Album Of All Time”.

What’s next for Simple Plan? Time off & new record as soon as possible!

Now that Simple Plan played their final show of the TOFTT tour cycle and the tour is officially over, the time has come for the members of SP to finally get back home to their families and enjoy some well-deserved time off.

However, in just a couple weeks, Pierre and Chuck will get back to song-writing and while that process usually lasts at least a year, there are some signs that say that might not be the case this time around! And while we want to be cautious about believing that the record will be out “soon”, the guys have been making it very clear for the past couple of months in various interviews, that they do not want to take as long as they once used to to make this album happen.

Yesterday, after returning back home to California, Pierre updated his Instagram Stories with a little update, where he once again confirmed that Simple Plan’s goal is still to release record no. 6 much sooner than the records before – even talking about a “record timing”. Check out what Pierre said below:

‘And then, of course, create some new music. I got my studio back there in the back yard – gonna work on that in the next few weeks and months and hopefully we’ll get you guys a new record in a record timing. We don’t wanna take too long this time. But yeah – next step in life: new album!’

– Pierre Bouvier –

As of right now, it seems that the song-writing sessions could begin in the fall (perhaps September?) and we’ve also already heard that there might be some new music – whether a single or a few songs – ready early next year, but don’t hold on to that information, all of that can still easily change.

Simple Plan also published a farewell-to-their-tour post on their Instagram, in which they reassured their fans that the process of making the album will be well-documented on their social media channels, so we don’t need to be afraid of any silence from their part:

‘This weekend, we played our last show before we start working on new music and a new album. Since the release of TOFTT in early 2016 and continuing with the NPNHJB Anniversary celebrations, we traveled all over the world twice and toured non-stop for almost 3 years in a row. It’s been an amazing adventure and we would like to thank every single fan who came to see us play and made these shows so magical.

Now it’s time to go home, get inspired and come back with new songs for all of you. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 We can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings as we head into 20 years as a band in 2019! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻Don’t worry – we will keep posting and updating you on our progress. Thanks for all the support and see you all very soon!’

– Simple Plan –

As you could have noticed, Simple Plan correctly noted that the band’s 20th anniversary is coming up next year, since the band officially formed in 1999 (back then, still without David), which makes us think that perhaps that might be one of the reasons why Simple Plan want to hurry up the record-making process. Could be expect a 20th anniversary tour? Or some other special 20th anniversary surprise? We shall see!

Stay tuned for more info as Simple Plan get back to song-writing in a few weeks!

In the meantime, let us know: what sort of direction do you expect Simple Plan to go with on their sixth album? What would you like to hear from them?

SimplePlan.cz celebrates 11 years online!

Year after year it gets all the more harder to realize how fast time flies. Did you know that today, for instance, marks the 11th anniversary of SimplePlan.cz?

Granted, it already was half-alive 2 years prior to that in a blog-form (est. 2005), but the official beginning on this platform dates back to August 13th 2007, when I decided that a blog just wasn’t enough – that the fandom needed something a bit bigger and more credible [if you’re not familiar with the SimplePlan.cz history, give it a read!].

11 years later and without any breaks, SimplePlan.cz is still here as the longest continuously running fansite about SimplePlan on the internet.

“… But Dominika, how do you even manage it all by yourself?”, I often get asked. To be quite honest, even though I do run the website alone, I would never be able do it “all by myself” if I didn’t have help from the rest of the fandom. It always baffles me how many fans are willing to help out just so that other fans can know their favorite band a little better – whether it’s by taking photos for the website, filming a video of a special appearance, translating a French interview, sending in a setlist or just letting us know about some of the highlights from a show they just attended the night before. All of that put together is how this website can still be alive – thanks to you. All of you who visit the website, who have helped make any article happen or even just commented under our social media posts, are the reason why this website keeps growing and has the ability to offer Simple Plan fans more insights into the work of the band and their music. Because we all know it’s not just about the official press releases – there’s so much more to be found in the SP world and we don’t even need to be tabloid about it. It’s absolutely fantastic to have such a dedicated group of little Simple Plan soldiers out there all around the world, willing to give a helping hand! Thank you SO MUCH for all of that!

And even though there aren’t any more shows planned in the near future, don’t fret! I’ll make sure there’s plenty of news that can keep your curious minds busy, but most importantly – we have the whole process of the making of the sixth Simple Plan album ahead of us! Who knows what we can expect?

What you can definitely be counting on though, is that SimplePlan.cz be there every step of the way, hoping that you will join us on this journey!

Obviously, the biggest thanks as always goes to the Simple Plan boys, for still going strong and being so involved with and dedicated to their fandom. We appreciate it a lot. On a personal note – thanks Pierre, Chuck, Jeff, Seb and David for all the support you’ve given this website over the years, especially in the TOFTT era. We all look forward to seeing what’s next for you and absolutely can’t wait to see you ALL together on stage again.

Well, time to get started on year no. 12, shall we? The battery is full and my keyboard is ready – let’s see what the future holds in the world of SP news!

Thanks for all the support, guys! I meant it.
