I guess there isn’t a lot of you among us, who haven’t heard yet about the earthquake in Haiti, which about a week ago destroyed the capital city Port-au-Prince and the surrounding area and caused the death of hundreds of thousands. Benefit events for Haiti are since then being held all over the world and one of them will take place in Canada tomorrow.

The commercial-free broadcast called “Canada For Haiti”, which will be aired at 7pm EST (that’s 12pm GMT) on January 22nd collaboratively on CBC, CTV and Global Television, will feature lots of popular canadian celebrities. For instance director James Cameron, actors Eugene Levy, Joshua Jackson, Pamela Anderson, Rachelle Lefevre, Ryan Reynolds or musicians Justin Bieber, Nelly Furtado, Celine Dion and also Simple Plan!

Yes, this live broadcast will be attended by the members of Simple Plan, who will be in Canada at that time – which meanstedy Jeff Stinco, David Desrosiers and Sebastien Lefebvre (as Pierre and Chuck are currently in Los Angeles, USA, writing lyrics for the new album). David and Sebastien confirmed their attendance (and also Jeff’s) today live at CBC (here is a screencap).

The raised money from this telethon will be equally distributed into the 10 biggest canadian non-governmental organisations – including World Vision Canada, Canadian Red Cross Society, UNICEF Canada, Oxfam Canada and Save the Children Canada and all the profits will go through them to help Haiti.

CBC.ca, CTV.ca, GlobalTV.com and MuchMusic.com will also stream the programme live tomorrow.
