PHOTO: Simple Plan are back in Montreal!

Sebastien expressed it the best: “The boys are back in town!” Indeed, all the members of Simple Plan are currently back in the same city, their hometown Montreal, to hang out with a couple of talented contestants of the Dejardins Ma Zone D contest I informed you about a couple months back.

As you can see from the picture Sebastien posted on the official website, the boys look very relaxed and David even seems to have let his hair grow a little bit. Check out the full version of the new SP picture in the gallery:

Since David is usually the one person in Simple Plan that doesn’t engage in social media much, it’s always nice to hear/see something new that confirms that he is “still alive”. The cold weather and snow in Canada didn’t allow David to ride his motorbike over there, so he decided to take it for a spin somewhere more warm and ended up in California, where coincidentally are currently two of bandmates – Pierre and Chuck.

Chuck met up with David yesterday and the two rode on David’s bike for a while. Check out this picture of the two together:

FLASHBACK: 12 years since first Simple Plan show (with David)

A week ago, we celebrated the 13th anniversary since the first ever Simple Plan show, which commemorated the first show that happened in the name of “Simple Plan” yet the band only included four members. And today we can finally celebrate the the date when all the members of Simple Plan – even David – were in the band.

It took the guys a couple months after their first show to realize they need another member, which would allow Pierre not to focus on the bass but just on his vocal parts. They were astonished by David’s performance as the new bass-player for Reset and offered him a place in their own band. For a few months, David was secretly a part of both bands but finally in early 2001 he told his bandmates in Reset he was leaving for Simple Plan.

David’s first official show as the newest member of Simple Plan then took place on February 3rd, 2001, when they opened for Our Lady Peace at Laval University in Quebec City.

David tweets first time since accident

As David usually doesn’t tweet very often, it’s always hard to tell how exactly he is doing. Even Jeff pointed this out with his recent tweet in which he commented on David’s state after his minor accident: “David is all good. He doesn’t tweet much cause he doesn’t know how to read or write. It happens. He needs to go back to school.”

But David did finally appear on Twitter to confirm his well-being to his fans. David said: “I’m ok everyone don’t worry about me… But please I will go ahead and tell you to STOP texting while driving or playing with a GPS!”

More details on David’s accident

As I’ve informed you yesterday, David was involved in a minor accident on Tuesday, when on its way to visit the students of a primary school in Rivière-du-Loup.

According to infodimanche.com, the accident happened on Autoroute 20 (a major highway in Quebec) was light and without any consequences neither for David nor his car. After the accident, David continued to Matane, his hometown. Even though David didn’t manage to visit the students, he promised to reschedule for another time in the near future.

That day David also apparently visited the Au Coin de l’Oeil optician’s (where his father works as an optician) to pick up his new glasses. Check out a picture of David in Au Coin de l’Oeil.
