Our brazilian colleagues got some hot new info about few song titles, which were recently written by Pierre and Chuck! Of course, it’s still unknown if these songs will be used for the new album or not.
The first song is called “Paralysed” and was written only by Chuck and Pierre.
The next song, “You Suck At Love”, was also written by them but the guys also collaborated with Mattem Squire (who has worked with bands like 3OH!3, Taking Back Sunday, The Used, All Time Low, Panic! At The Disco, Boys Like Girls or The Cab).
“Astronaut” is the last song-title. It was written by Pierre and Chuck – though, it is yet unknown if it was written for Simple Plan or for some other band. The guys worked with Julian Emery (british producer and song-writer, known for his collaboration with McFly) and Jim Irvin, who worked with Davidem Guetta.
So, what do YOU think of the new song-titles? Any ideas what the songs could be about?
Yesterday, the hosts of the radio show Bitch Slap Radio on the idobi radio called Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan for a more than 16-minutes-long interview.
Thanks to this interview, we found out that the guys have already written more songs for the upcoming album than for any of the previous albums before and that the guys plan to hit the studio probably in mid-March. About the name of the next album, Chuck said there is none chosen yet, but the guys are apparently thinking about one name already.

The songwriting process for the upcoming Simple Plan album is still going on in Los Angeles and according to the news we daily get from Pierre’s and Chuck’s tweets, it’s apparently going on pretty well.
Chuck informed on Twitter yesterday that to honor his 500th tweet, the guys decided to write a song about YOU – the fans. After that he encouraged the fans to contribute to the writing process by replying them about how has SP’s music made them feel through the years, what songs were important to them and how they related to their lives.
“Reading all your tweets and feeling so amazing, grateful and humbled by all the amazing things you guys wrote us. Thank you so much,” says Chuck after discovering the deepest fans’ feelings about SP’s music. These feelings should reflect on one of the songs on the upcoming Simple Plan album. “We are writing a song about all the things you guy are writing us…it’s sounding so great. it’s like you guys are co-writing with us.”
Speaking of the new record, the guys have already said few times that the album should have a “back to the roots” flavour – which means it should be similar to what Simple Plan have done on their debut album “No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls”. The exact date when SP should be heading back to the studio is still not known, but Simple Plan expect to hit it in the spring of 2010. They also promised to the fans that the whole album should be out definitely this year!
Yesterday (or today, depends of where you’re from) Pierre and Chuck suddenly decided to make a live videochat via twitcam with their fans. Even if you could not attend it (yes, blame time zones), the current technology allows you to watch the videochat via the video below. It’s kind of like a 45-minutes-long interactive vlog. If you’re interested what happened on this videochat without watching it, you can check the notes of the most important things that happened in this video below:
In this video, we got to know that:
– the boys have already written about 22 songs
– David and Jeff are doing fine (that’s a response to all the fans, who’ve been asking what’s going on with the 2 SP members, who don’t have Twitter)
– the guys suppose that they should enter the studio in late February
– Pierre and Chuck promised a US tour (because they didn’t tour there for quite a while)
– the new album, on which the guys are currently working on, should include fast and funny songs: something like the first Simple Plan album – No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls
– Chuck mentioned that this record has been his favourite to work on
– the album should also include some serious songs
– there should be also some songs similar to Jump (from SNGA)
– the new album will definitely be released next year (2010)
– during the video, Pierre sang Ave Maria, Good Girls Go Bad (originally by Cobra Starship), Hey Jude (originally by The Beatles), Girlfriend (originally by Avril Lavigne) and finally even Holding On (by SP)
– Chuck keeps “whining” about the low amount of his followers on Twitter (Pierre and Sebastien both have way more followers than he does)
– the boys mentioned they liked Seb’s side project and that they loved his version of Can’t Stop Partying
– they would love to tour with bands like All Time Low, McFly, Blink 182, All-American Rejects, Cobra Starship, Boys like Girls or Hedley
– Chuck wants a piece of art for Xmas
– about the promised photobook – it may be a part of a deluxe edition of the upcoming album, but it’s not sure
– during Xmas, the guys are taking a little break from writing, Pierre is going to surf
– they will try to make a new DVD
– Chuck is still single
– Chuck also announced that he finally got a driving licence(btw: he is 30 years old)
– Chuck definitely doesn’t want any tattooes
– if Pierre had a younger brother, he would like him to look like the Jonas Brothers
– a fan asked Pierre if he ever wanted to also work on a solo-project -Pierre answered that he wanted to, but Chuck wouldn’t let him
– Chuck and Pierre both don’t really like the song 21 Guns by Green Day
– Chuck’s trying to play the guitar in the video
