Simple Plan introduce working with Lenny Castro in a new vlog

Simple Plan are working in the studio with a very big crew of talented people on their new record and in their newest vlog, Pierre and Chuck introduced their newest addition to this crew: Lenny Castro [see the most recent photos in the gallery!].

Lenny Castro is an American freelance percussionist, who’s previously worked with quite the number of successful artists, such as Adele, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Maroon 5 or The All-American Rejects!

Progress board update #3!

The third progress update of the recording process of the fifth SP studio album, shows us that [when compared to update #2 from last week], Simple Plan made quite a progress when it comes to guitars and bass and Pierre also did vocals on a couple tracks.

SP are only second day into week three of recording and there’s already so many pictures to update with! Check out the studio album for more new pictures from the studio, some of them taken by Adam Elmakias:

Progress board update #2!

I’m sure you’re all very excited about the preview of a demo of a new SP song, but let’s get back to where the proper versions of the new songs are currently getting made: to the studio!

Simple Plan just started week #3 in the recording studio and things are going really great [see all pictures from the studio]! According to Jeff, over the weekend the band members have received the first mixed song of the record and as we can tell from looking at the new picture of the progress board, that is indeed true. And if we compare the state of the progress board from the end of first week, the guys have also done a significant progress on the guitars and bass on many other songs.

You can also notice that while the first published photo of the progress board included only 11 songs, it is now clear that Simple Plan want to record at least 13 songs. Whether all the songs will be on the album is yet unclear. The additional songs could be used as bonus songs on deluxe versions of the album.
