PHOTOS: Chuck and Pierre playing hockey at CN Canadiens Alumni Challenge

After the acoustic performance, that you could have read about earlier, Pierre and Chuck got back on the ice to take part in the main part of the CN Canadiens Alumni Challenge – the hockey match between CN and Montreal Canadiens Alumni. Chuck played for the Montreal Canadiens Alumni team and Pierre was on the side of the CN team. With a huge help of the drummer, who scored, the team of Montreal Canadiens Alumni eventually won the match.

Below you can read Chuck’s recap of this event:

Had the honor of playing with the Montreal Canadiens Alumni hockey team today. My teammates included Guy Carbonneau, Chris Nilan, Stephane Richer, Rick Green, Patrice Brisebois, Steve Begin, Dave Morissette and tons more. Our coach was one of the most talented hockey player of all time, the legendary Guy Lafleur. The kid in me that grew up watching these guys was so stoked! Thanks to the CN charitable foundation for inviting us and for the amazing 50,000$ donation to the SP Foundation. Awesome day!

Here you can check out some pictures of the Simple Plan guys during the game. Big thanks to Audrey for many of them:

Surprising setlist and first photos from CN Canadiens Alumni Challenge

Simple Plan surely surprised many fans this afternoon, when they decided to switch things up a bit and offer their fans and other attendees of the CN Canadiens Alumni Challenge a little different setlist than usual. Since this was a short acoustic session, the setlist included only 6 songs but not only did the band perform “Time To Say Goodbye”, as it was hinted on a few hours ago, they also played “The Rest Of Us”, a song featured on their EP “Get Your Heart On – The Second Coming!” which came out just about a year ago, live for the very first time! Thanks to Anika, you can expect a video of this performance soon – and until then you can check out the whole setlist below:

1. Welcome To My Life
2. Time To Say Goodbye
3. Jet Lag
4. The Rest Of Us
5. Summer Paradise
6. I’d Do Anything

And here are some first pictures from Simple Plan’s performance at the CN Canadiens Alumni Challenge today:

In just a few hours, Simple Plan will be performing at the 10th edition of the CN Canadiens Alumni Challenge, a friendly hockey match beterrn the Montreal Canadiens Alumni and the employees of CN. Simple Plan will perform acoustically from 1pm EST and after that Pierre and Chuck should take part in the hockey game itself.

Simple Plan are already at the venue right now and this is what the soundcheck looked like from Frank Joly’s point of view:

PHOTO: Pierre reunited with Patrick Langlois

Since all the members of Simple Plan returned to Montreal for this weekend, it was the perfect opportunity for them to meet up with some of their local friends, who some of them don’t get to see very often – such as Patrick Langlois, the former merch guy (and everything else) for Simple Plan. Check out the photo of last night’s reunion of Pierre and his wife Lachelle with their old friend Patrick:

Simple Plan receive Peace Medal from YMCA

As it has been announced a few months ago, Simple Plan have been named this year’s honorary laureates of the “Médailles de la paix”, also known as the Peace Medal, awarded each year by YMCA Quebec to individuals and groups that have contributed, through their actions and dedication to make their community, their country or the whole world a more peaceful place.
