PHOTOS: Simple Plan on Top Musique and En Mode Salvail + new scoops

For Canadian Simple Plan fans, it was basically like Christmas yesterday as the whole band appeared on two evening shows on local TV channels. First, the members of Simple Plan dropped by at MusiquePlus, where they were interviewed for the “Top Musique” show and a couple hours later the guys headed to the Tele V studios for Eric Salvail’s “En Mode Salvail” show, where they also performed acoustically.

Check out the first picturs from the taping of both of the shows. Also, notice Chuck picking up the bass guitar on En Mode Salvail :)

As soon as the videos from the shows are anywhere available for watching, I will let you know. In the meantime, here’s two more scoops:

1. On Ca Commence Bien yesterday Chuck confirmed that the EP should be released either at the end of November or beginning of December and should include the final count of 7 songs in total (thanks Emelie and Charbel for letting me know).

2. While some fans expressed their disappointment with the more “poppy” sound of the newly released song, Chuck was quick to respond and not to judge the EP by one song and that the next (fifth) Simple Plan record should have more rock songs on it.

Very surprisingly, during the previously announced appearance of Chuck and Sebastien at their friend’s Patrick Langlois’ morning TV show “Ca Commence Bien”, the boys exclusively premiered a brand new song from their upcoming (yet untitled) EP – “The Rest Of Us”.

Also, according to Chuck and Seb, the two are apparently working on “one more surprise for the end of the month” in the MOTH studio right now for Idobi radio. Any guesses on what that might be about? :)

To promote the Foundation’s upcoming benefit event that will take place in Montreal’s Corona theatre on November 12th, Sebastien visited a few radio and TV programmes in the past few days to spread the word about the event. Sebastien’s appearance at CKOI 96.9: “EP will be released before Xmas!”

This evening, Sebastien Lefebvre paid a visit to a Montreal-based radio station – CKOI 96.9 to talk mostly about the band’s upcoming annual benefit event for the Simple Plan Foundation. Thanks to Sab you can check out a little recap of what Sebastien talked about:

– since Coeur de Pirate (who co-wrote Jet Lag) will be present at the Simple Plan Foundation event, Seb said she might be joining them and finally sing it live

– Simple Plan are currently writing songs for a new (5th) album

– EP will be released before Christmas

The last piece of information is very interesting at even though the release date is still to be determined (according to Chuck it should be this week), so far we only knew it was sometimes before the end of 2013 but the releasing the EP before Christmas could mean that perhaps we could be getting a new Simple Plan Christmas song!
