Ready for the show in Mexiko

October is almost here and it won’t take long and the Mexican fans will get to enjoy another amazing show by Simple Plan and also by Fall Out Boy at the MTV World Stage in the city of Monterrey, where both of the bands will perform on October 3rd. And the preparations for this show – at least for Simple Plan – have already begun – as you can see from the photo by Simple Plan’s sound engineer of musical instruments and various technical elements needed for the show which have already been loaded to a truck that will safely transport it to Mexico.

The members of Simple Plan and their crew should arrive to Mexico at the beginning of next week.

Wilfred LeBouthillier‘s brand new album “Je Poursuis Ma Route” produced by the Lefebvre brothers – Sebastien and Jay, is coming out on September 30th, and as various media outlets are interested in covering this story, so it happens that for the upcoming article on this new release, Journal de Montreal did a little photoshoot of the three musicians today. And while we’ll still have to wait for the actual portraits, you can now check out this brand new image from behind the scenes of the Jay, Sebastien and Wilfred photoshoot from the streets of Montreal:

PHOTOS: Jeff attending the launch of the Le Support campaign

As it’s been announced a few days ago, Jeff Stinco from Simple Plan has become one of the personalities of Quebec that lent its name to the new campaign for the Canadian organization called Le Support that is trying to persuade the local people to donate used clothes and household items so that they can be re-sold and the money can be used to help people with intellectual disabilities. Today Jeff attended the launch of the campaign as you can see from the first pictures from the event that can now be found in the gallery:

Simple Plan start recording songs for upcoming EP

The long-awaited Simple Plan EP has finally moved to another stage of production! The songs that Simple Plan have worked on during the process of writing the Get Your Heart On! album and also some extra songs written since then, have moved from the demo versions and the band is now working on recording them in the studio.

The EP is promised to serve as a bridge between the 4th and the 5th studio album in order to make the “waiting period” in-between albums feel shorter for the fans and so that they have some SP music to listen to. It is still unknown how many songs the final version of the EP will have but the band has been guessing around 5 – 7 songs for quite a while now. The exact release date is yet to be confirmed but the fact that Simple Plan have already started recording the songs tells us they may make it to their goal of releasing the EP at the end of 2013 or the early 2014.

Chuck Comeau has posted a picture from the Sound Factory recording studios in Hollywood, where some of the band members are now recording their parts of the songs – with Chuck recording the drum bits yesterday evening:

Simple Plan Foundation helps fight homophobia

Today, on September 19th the GRIS Montreal organisation held its annual conference in Montreal, and just like last year, Jeff Stinco was a part of it, representing the Simple Plan Foundation that’s been a long-time supporter of the GRIS Montreal organisation.

GRIS Montreal is an organisation that is trying to help in demistifying homosexuality and developing self-esteem among young people who are questioning their sexuality as well as trying to prevent and stop bullying.

On behalf of the Simple Plan Foundation, Jeff Stinco presented (for the 4th year in a row) a $2000 scholarship to a local school – this time to the Letendre Laval high school. In his speech, Jeff focused on the topic of homophobia at schools and also online. “What is going on here is worrying, but so is what’s happening abroad,” said Jeff, hinting at the Russian laws against homosexuality and denouncing them. According to Jeff “Simple Plan is most likely to risk its own career than not to denounce the homophobia happening over there.”
