Simple Plan Foundation benefit event

The event we’ve all been looking for so much, this year’s Simple Plan Foundation benefit event ended just few moments ago and here is already the your first update. During the press conference, that took place in the morning, Simple Plan announced that this year they are donating $185 000 to local, national and international charitable organizations!

During this event, Simple Plan also mingled into the crowd and met all the fans that came to support Simple Plan and also to listen to the new material for album #4! The fans were asked not to record any of the songs in order to prevent them from being leaked before the album is released. Anyhow, rumour has it that the new Simple Plan songs are amazing!

After playing the samples from the upcoming record, Simple Plan performed an acoustic concert, which consisted of these tracks:

Shut Up
I’d Do Anything
Welcome To My Life
Your Love Is A Lie
Take My Hand
Crazy
When I’m Gone

And what more, during today’s benefit event, Simple Plan Foundation raised another $125 000! Congratulations!

And finally – here are the first pictures from the event – check out the professional ones (thanks Montreal.tv) along with those taken by fans (thanks Robyn :)) in our gallery:

Guitar signed by Simple Plan on Alex Kovalev’s benefit auction

Simple Plan have a very good releationship with hockey. Not onlz thez are huge Montreal Canadians fans (well… except from Chuck), they are friends with few hockey stars and with some of them they keep collaborating on benefitial projects. One of these fore-mentioned stars is for instance Alex Kovalev, the ex-player for Habs.

Alex Kovalev, just like Simple Plan, has his own foundation, which organises various benefit events. One such event, that is organised by both Alex Kovalev and Vladislav Tretiak – The Cocktail Dinner & Auction – will be held in only few days, on November 30th 2010, and it’s main purpose is to raise funds for sick and underprivileged children. An auction will be a part of this event, including items signed by many personalities related to sports like Alex Kovalev, or the olympic medalist Joanie Rochette. It’s been a little bit of surprise that one of the items included on the acution will be a guitar signed by all the Simple Plan members, which has been donated by the band itself. On the left side you can check out a picture of Alex Kovalev with this guitar.

Simple Plan’s appearance on We Day: first news

Yesterday, on November 12th, Simple Plan performed at the event called “We Day”, which you couldn’t read about in one of our recent posts. And it seems like this year’s We Day in Montreal was pretty successful.

“Really proud to have been part of this Me to We event. It’s amazing to feel so much energy and positive vibes. I feel really good today,” said Jeff Stinco right after performing at the event. And speaking of Simple Plan’s performance, which was the final highlight of the evening, Chuck added: “Had a great time playing We Day today. We hadn’t played live in more than 2 months…i think we did pretty well! thx to all the kids there!”

Here you can check out few professional shots from the performance alongside with interviews with the We Day speakers and performers, including Simple Plan:

The gallery already offers few looks at the SP show and also the first picture from the press conference. I will be adding more pictures during the next few hours/days so keep checking back for more awesome photos!

And finally, below you can check out the whole Simple Plan’s We Day performance of the song “Shut Up!”:

Christmas surprise from Sebastien and Katie Rox

I suppose it’s no news to you that it’s almost Christmas time – after all there is only a month and half left till Christmas Eve. And it’s the most magical time of year that Sebastien with his friend/singer Katie Rox reminded us of by releasing their own Christmas EP!

The collaboration of Sebastien with Katie Rox is not a big surprise – we could have heard them together already before on the track Catch Me – but now we will have a chance to hear a whole EP of their own music. The album is called “Christmas Etc” and you can already check out the samples of three songs – “Stay (It’s Christmas)”, “Rich” and “Other Side” – on Seb’s and Katie’s new MySpace: myspace.com/SebastienAndKatie

The album should be released in a couple of weeks!

Also, don’t forget to view the album’s cover along of some new and old pictures of Seb and Katie in our gallery:
