LISTEN to the full version of Simple Plan’s song “The Heroes”

Back in June of this year, the members of Simple Plan hit the recording studio again to record one song for the soundtrack to the movie “La Guerre des Tuques 3D” (“The Dog Who Stopped The War”). The song is called “The Heroes” and it is important to note that it wasn’t originally written by Simple Plan, but by Jonathan Painchaud who’s French version of this song also appears on the soundtrack.

Finally, after long months of waiting, you can now check out the full version of “The Heroes” in the video below, which also shows you the behind the scenes from the recording session. Interestingly, as you can see from the video, David Desrosiers took care of both the bass guitar and the drums or this song. It is currently unknown why Chuck didn’t participate in this recording, but it is quite possible the birth of his son (a week after the recording session) may have been the reason behind his absence.

Simple Plan in studio recording special soundtrack project

While the guys have finished the official L.A. studio sessions weeks ago, they clearly still aren’t done with recording. As the band’s lead guitarist Jeff Stinco just revealed on Twitter, the members who are currently in Canada – him, Sebastien and David – got together today to record the bed tracks for a special project with Pierre’s vocals coming soon. In particular, Jeff mentioned the word “soundtrack” in the following tweet.

And while we try to figure out which movie Simple Plan’s special project could be featured in, check out some of the pictures from today’s recording of it that Jeff shared on the Internet:

New Simple Plan song is getting mixed for a secret “special project”!

Simple Plan always seem to have some surprises up their sleeves! According to Chuck’s recent Instagram post, a new Simple Plan song was getting mixed yesterday by Joe Zook, one of the most successful engineers/mixers in the industry (Pink, Katy Perry, OneRepublic, One Direction, Plain White T’s, The Hives etc.), for a “a very special project”. Details should be coming soon according to Chuck, which gives us time to guess what this special secret project could be. Could the song possibly be featured in a new film? Or used some other way?

Kiehl’s Twitter chat: Simple Plan confirm collaboration with 5SOS is in works

On Tuesday evening, all the members of Simple Plan who reside in Montreal – Jeff, Sebastien and David – took part in the launch of the charity program Kiehl’s Rocks For Kids at the Kiehl’s store in Montreal, Canada. This program includes the following four initiatives:

limited edition of the Ultra Facial Cream: this product will be available in all the Kiehl’s stores in Canada with 100% net profit going to the Simple Plan Foundation.
for every transaction made at Kiehl’s between September 12th and 14th 2014, Kiehl’s will donate $1 to the Simple Plan Foundation.
acoustic performance of Simple Plan: the band will perform a special acoustic concert in Toronto, Canada on September 19th. The tickets will be given away for free at Toronto Kiehl’s stores starting September 13th and also through a contest on Breakfast Television.
live-stream of the concert: the show will be streamed online for all the fans, who donate $1 per view for the Simple Plan Foundation.

The company’s goal is to raise $40 000 for the Simple Plan Foundation through these initiatives.

During the evening at the Kiehl’s store, the members of Simple Plan gave out a couple of interviews to the media (which should be available soon – stay tuned!) and after that sat down with a laptop to answer the fans’ questions that have been sent in in advance using special hashtags on Twitter. You can check out all the fan questions and answers at @kiehlscanada. One answer that stood out was the band’s indirect confirmation of the rumor that there is indeed something coming up between Simple Plan and the Australian band 5 Seconds Of Summer in the future. See the tweet below:

The boys also helped the local Kiehl’s team with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge – which you can see on a video here. And finally: in the gallery you can now check out the first pictures of David, Jeff and Sebastien from last night’s appearance at the Kiehl’s store:
