Jeff to open up new “Mimi La Nuit” in fall!

Jeff continues taking over the restaurant business in the city of Montreal and his next project, the previously announced bar / restaurant “Mimi La Nuit”, has just been confirmed (by Jeff himself on Twitter) to open up this fall!

According to Jeff’s Twitter message, the restaurant will be “a French sister” to one of his first projects – Mangiafoco, which is an Italian restaurant located on the same street in Montreal as Mimi La Nuit: Rue St-Paul.

You can already check out Mimi La Nuit on Facebook and Twitter and if you’re interested in checking out all the restaurant projects that Jeff is currently involved with, make sure to visit this section on SimplePlan.cz.

Chuck admits to co-owning Idobi radio

Yesterday, the official Idobi radio Twitter account has revealed a picture from the Alternative Press Music Awards entitled “3/5 of Idobi owners rock the APMAs” which featured Simple Plan’s Chuck Comeau, radio host Eddie Barella and Idobi’s founder and CEO Tom Cheney. Later that evening Chuck retweeted said photo adding: “Some good-looking owners!”. So unless this is an inside joke, it seems that Chuck Comeau indeed co-owns Idobi radio with four other people.

Idobi radio has previously had a very big connection to Simple Plan as not only the radio frequently plays Simple Plan songs and often features news and interviews with the band, one of the members of Simple Plan – Sebastien Lefebvre – has been co-hosting a radio show on Idobi radio – Man Of The Hour – along with SP’s former merch guy & photo/videographer Patrick Langlois since 2006. Members of Simple Plan have since then also been featured on this show.

In the gallery you can now check out the picture that revealed Chuck’s co-owership of the radio below:

Jeff Stinco: “New projects in discussion!”

As you know, the guys from Simple Plan are currently working on their fifth studio album – and while in this time we don’t get many news about the actual progress of the writing/composing sessions, we do get hints about the process every once in a while from some of the band members.

In the past two days, Simple Plan’s lead guitarist Jeff Stinco posted two messages on Twitter in which he slightly mentioned how the process was going and that the band is already discussing their upcoming projects. However it is still unknown whether the discussed “projects” refer to the new album, next tours or other possible projects (perhaps the DVD?).

Check out Jeff’s tweets below:

New Simple Plan EP to come out by the end of 2013

Despite the fact that the guys are still working on the EP and that uptil now it wasn’t really sure if the EP would come out in 2013 or at the beginning of 2014, according to La Tribune, who interviewed Jeff Stinco in Sherbrooke on Tuesday, the new Simple Plan EP should be out by the end of this year.

“As we are not very fast in the production of albums, this will be a way for our fans to wait for a new album with new music in their hands already,” said Jeff.

The artice also reveals that Jeff’s upcoming restaurant project should be opened in January in Petite-Bourgogne and it should be a Japanese restaurant.

Simple Plan start recording songs for upcoming EP

The long-awaited Simple Plan EP has finally moved to another stage of production! The songs that Simple Plan have worked on during the process of writing the Get Your Heart On! album and also some extra songs written since then, have moved from the demo versions and the band is now working on recording them in the studio.

The EP is promised to serve as a bridge between the 4th and the 5th studio album in order to make the “waiting period” in-between albums feel shorter for the fans and so that they have some SP music to listen to. It is still unknown how many songs the final version of the EP will have but the band has been guessing around 5 – 7 songs for quite a while now. The exact release date is yet to be confirmed but the fact that Simple Plan have already started recording the songs tells us they may make it to their goal of releasing the EP at the end of 2013 or the early 2014.

Chuck Comeau has posted a picture from the Sound Factory recording studios in Hollywood, where some of the band members are now recording their parts of the songs – with Chuck recording the drum bits yesterday evening:
