Canadian ‘FestiVoix’ festival canceled due to COVID-19: Simple Plan won’t perform in Trois-Rivières

Unfortunately, the cancelation news just keep on giving. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizers of the Canadian festival FestiVoix, which was supposed to take place in Trois-Rivières, QC from June to July, had to make the tough decision earlier this month to cancel the entire festival out of concerns for the safety and health of all visitors as well as bands and crew. You can read the organizer’s full statement (in French) here.

Simple Plan were supposed to perform at this festival on July 4th. The organizers are currently trying their best to book as many acts of the original 2020 festival line-up to appear on next year’s edition of Festivoix (June 25th to July 4th). It is currently unknown whether Simple Plan will be attending the post-poned dates. Ticket holders have the option to either keep their tickets, which will remain vailed for the 2021 Festivoix or request a refund.

As of right now, the band only has one scheduled appearance in the future that has not been canceled yet – that being the Rock The Park festival in London, ON, Canada on July 16th alongside Blink-182. According to the latest news, the organizers are monitoring the current situation but so far are planning to go ahead with the festival. If anything changes, we will let you know.

Simple Plan and New Found Glory forced to postpone co-headlining tour amidst COVID-19 pandemic

What many U.S. fans have feared in the last few weeks has unfortunately become true. Simple Plan and New Found Glory, who were supposed to finally head out on a co-headlining ‘Pop-Punk’s Still Not Dead’ tour in the United States this summer, have now announced that due to COVID-19, the bands are forced to postpone the tour indefinitely.

But rest assured – this tour WILL happen. Just gotta wait a little longer until things go back to normal again.

You can read the full statement below:

“We are very disappointed to announce that we have to postpone our « Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead » co-headlining tour with New Found Glory, scheduled to take place this spring / summer.

Because of the extraordinary situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic and based on the current information we have, it has become abundantly clear that playing these shows will simply not be possible, no matter how badly we want them to happen.

Please rest assured that this tour WILL take place and that we are working very hard on multiple scenarios to reschedule the dates, in collaboration with NFG’s team and all the promoters. As of right now, and because of the changing nature of the situation, we don’t know exactly when the tour will be able to take place, but please know that both bands are deeply committed to playing these shows for you, as soon as it is considered safe to do so.

We know this really sucks and we are so bummed to have to do this, but your health and safety has always been our number one priority and we truly have no choice.

We promise to keep you updated as soon as we have any new information.

Please take care of yourselves, stay safe and stay home so we can beat this virus and get back to doing all the things we love the most.”
