Simple Plan won’t perform in Indonesia: Lalala Fest canceled due to coronavirus outbreak

Due to the continuing pandemic situation related to the outbreak of a coronavirus, another upcoming event, where Simple Plan were supposed to perform, has been officially canceled. Originally, Simple Plan were supposed to head over to Indonesia this April to take part in the Lalala Fest between April 18th and 19th.

Even if the members of Simple Plan were able to travel (which they aren’t, given they’re all on lockdown – some in Canada, some in the United States), the organizers of the Indonesian Lalala Fest festival, recently announced their decision to cancel the event entirely. You can read their official statement below:

To all of our LaLaLa Fellas,

With a heavy heart, we are obliged to announce that LaLaLa Festival 2020 is unfortunately canceled due to the extremely critical condition that the COVID-19 virus has afflicted across the nation. Following discussions with our venue partner as well as health and government authorities, the health and safety of our visitors, crew, talents and everybody involved, is our utmost priority. Therefore our decision to cancel LaLaLa Festival 2020 is concluded necessary and most required.

As LaLaLa Festival 2020 is cancelled, visitors are entitled for a refund in which we have been preparing for in our time of absence. Please kindly check your inbox or visit our website for refund information. Should there be any ticket holders who do not wish to process a refund your LaLaLa Festival 2020 tickets will still be eligible for LaLaLa Festival 2021.

We deeply apologize to over 14.000 of our two-day festival visitors for this cancellation. We truly pray for the safety of each and everyone of us as we fight together to end this crisis. Stay home, keep social distancing and follow suggested precautions, and hope to see you all in LaLaLa Festival 2021.
