Simple Plan to travel to China next month to perform at early screenings of “Snowtime!”

It seems that Simple Plan will be back on stage even sooner than we initially expected! It has just been announced, through a post on Journal de Montreal, that Simple Plan will be heading to China in the beginning of March to perform in Beijing and Shenzhen at two early screenings of the Canadian animated film ‘Snowtime!’ (the original French title is ‘La Guerre Des Tuques 3D’), for which they recorded an English version of the track ‘The Heroes’ back in 2015. The band is expected to perform the song ‘The Heroes’ live at the screenings of the film.

The film’s producer, Marie-Claude Beauchamp, commented on the band’s willingness to promote the movie: “It’s great that the guys at Simple Plan agreed to accompany us on the promotion tour in China.”

The official premiere of ‘Snowtime!’ in China is set for April 1st and according to earlier first screenings back in January, the Chinese audiences seem to be very excited about the movie. The animated film is a remake of a 1984 film of the same name and even though it was only released in November 2015, it has still managed to become Canada’s highest grossing film of 2015 with 3.3 million dollars in earnings.

Remind yourselves of the song below (Chuck wasn’t present during the recording of ‘The Heroes’ as his son London was being born at the same time as the song was being recorded in the studio):

Simple Plan’s new Xmas song in most popular songs on iTunes charts

After 15 years of having just one official Christmas song, Simple Plan finally released the long-awaited “Christmas Every Day” yesterday – just in time for the Christmas season! And fans were stoked – and there are fancy statistics to prove that claim!

According to the kworb statistics, ‘Christmas Every Day’ has managed to jump up on the iTunes charts pretty high in several countries! It started at #22 in Sweden, #26 in the Czech Republic and #32 in Slovakia. Of course, the positions change every moment – the song went down a couple places in Sweden (#36) and it currently also holds a steady #70 on Canada’s iTunes. Even with the slight drop, which is obvious given how many people downloaded the song the first day, it is very interesting to see how popular the song is in the smaller countries, such as Czech Republic or Slovakia.

If you haven’t downloaded your copy of “Christmas Every Day” on iTunes yet, do so now! Let’s push the boys up in more countries!

Also, if you missed the lyric video to the song – remind yourselves of it here!

Christmas Every Day

I wish it was Christmas
Christmas every day
We could just let it snow forever
And live on holiday

There would be presents every morning
Under every tree
Oh, Santa Claus if I could have my way
I wish it was Christmas every day

School is out
No work today
So in my PJs I will stay
Staring at this winter wonderland

Reindeer slippers on my feet
Christmas vacation on TV
I feel like I am just a kid again

I can see the Christmas lights appear
Welcome to the best time of the year

I wish it was Christmas
Christmas every day
We could just let it snow forever
And live on holiday

There would be present every morning
Under every tree
Oh, Santa Claus if I could have my way
I wish it was Christmas every day

Kissing under the mistletoe
52 weeks in a row
Now you’ve got me shouting out with glee
No more wars and no more fights
Peace on Earth comes every night
What a wonderful world this could be

I can see the Christmas lights appear
Welcome to the best time of the year

I wish it was Christmas
Christmas every day
We could just let it snow forever
And live on holiday

There would be presents every morning
Under every tree
Oh, Santa Claus if I could have my way
I wish it was Christmas every day
Christmas every day

I wish it was Christmas
Christmas every day
We could just let it snow forever
And live on holiday

There would be presents every morning
Under every tree
Oh, Santa Claus if I could have my way
I wish it was Christmas
I wish it was Christmas
I wish it was Christmas every day

Watch Janick Thibault cover Simple Plan’s ‘Perfect World’

Janick Thibault, the lead singer of the Canadian band Story Untold (formerly known as Amasic), who recently supported Simple Plan on the U.S. tour in October, released yet another cover of a Simple Plan song yesterday. You may recall Janick covering Simple Plan previously and his videos hitting hundreds of thousands of views – most prominently his covers of ‘Summer Paradise’ and ‘This Song Saved My Life’.

This time around, Janick decided to cover a song from Simple Plan’s second album (Still Not Getting Any) – ‘Perfect World’, which Simple Plan finally brought back to their setlist on the Taking One For The Team tour this year. Check out Janick’s cover below:
