Sebastien posted a new video on his Instagram from the first day of the second week of Simple Plan’s stay in the recording studio. Make sure to listen carefully to catch the tunes that play in the background, it’s the very first sneak peak of the new SP album!

In their recent Google+ hangout session, the American post-hardcore band Our Last Night answered a fan question about Simple Plan. Tim Molloy, the drummer of the band, mentioned he has in fact seen Simple Plan five times in concert and the lead singer Trevor Wentworth added he grew up on their music. After that the members of the band burst into “I’d Do Anything”.

In his latest vlog, Adam Elmakias, who is currently on tour, photographing All Time Low, mentioned that he recently hung out with Pierre and Chuck from Simple Plan during their song-writing sessions. According to Adam, he should be working with Simple Plan on the next album cycle. Now whether that means only tour photography or that he could be in charge of the album cover photography as well, we don’t know yet. But what we can be sure of is there are definitely more Elmakias pictures of Simple Plan coming up in the future.

Before I came here [to the UK], I hung out with Simple Plan for a day. They are cool. It’s just two of the guys – Chuck and Pierre – and they’re awesome. They’re kind of like All Time Low, where they’re just good dudes I get along with and hang out with, so I’m gonna hopefully be working with them on this next album cycle.
We first heard about a possible upcoming collaboration between Simple Plan and the Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer in August 2014 shortly after 5 Seconds of Summer revealed they listen to Simple Plan during pre-show rituals. Since then the members of both bands got in touch and have already met several times and Simple Plan have been toying with the idea of a possible collaboration between them.
However only yesterday’s events made it clear that there is definitely something in works. Michael Clifford (guitar and back vocals for 5SOS) and Calum Hood (bass guitar and back vocals for 5SOS) officially visited Pierre and Chuck in Chuck’s home studio where they were co-writing some songs for 2 days. Whether the guys were only song-writing together or if we can expect some 5SOS vocal parts on some upcoming songs is yet unclear.

Simple Plan will be entering the studio in less than 2 weeks, on March 1st 2015.
In 2017, the city of Montreal will be celebrating its 375th anniversary and “The Society for the Celebration of Montréal’s 375th Anniversary” already started with some preparations: firstly, by naming Simple Plan the very first Honourable Montrealers. The Society reason this move by saying Simple Plan “have been killing it on our city’s behalf for over 10 years.”
They caught up with the band when they were all together in Montreal, receiving the Peace Medal from YMCA in November 2014. Check out the video below, in which the band members discussed what they love the most about their city:
