Simple Plan are attending Canada Day in Canada’s capital city Ottawa today and will be performing both during the Noon Show (12pm to 1:30pm EST) and also the Evening show (7:30pm to 10pm). Both of the shows should be available for online streaming HERE.
In the meantime you can check out the first pictures of the members of Simple Plan at the red carpet at Canada Day giving out interviews (thanks Tempo Mag for some of them):
Yesterday, right after their arrival to Ottawa, where they are partaking in the celebrations of Canada Day, Simple Plan gave a couple of interviews. Here is one with Chuck and Sebastien, in which they answered for CBC why they love Canada and why they are proud to be Canadian:
It’s been known for a couple of months now that Simple Plan will be releasing a book, a DVD and an EP by the end of this year. Let’s concentrate on the EP for a while now. So far we know that it should include about 6 or 7 songs that Simple Plan wrote for the 4th record (Get Your Heart On!) but they didn’t make it to the final cut.
In total, Simple Plan wrote about 70 songs for GYHO and recorded only about 15, while the rest of the songs is still waiting to be recorded someday. Yet the guys do have demo versions of all of these songs.
In an interview for the Australian radio station Hot Tomato David and Jeff mentioned that the band would like to go and record a couple of these songs for their EP already in July, on their days off in between the Canadian festivals that they have planned for summer. “For the last record, we actually wrote 70 songs, so there’s a lot of songs lying around that are still, you know, they need to be recorded. Some of them are really really good (…). And we’re actually planning on recording some new material in July,” said Jeff Stinco in the interview.
And to top that, Jeff and David also revealed to the reporter of Hot Tomato three titles they had in store for naming their 4th record. The titles being: “Shrimp or Prawn” , “Urine Trouble” and “Teenage Stream”. All these titles have a double meaning… and I really hope you can find it out on your own :) And if not, the guys may help you a bit in this video:
While in Australia a couple days ago, the guys from Simple Plan decided to go to see the crocodiles near Darwin and captured all their experience with them in the following video. Check out the new crocs vlog:
At the soundchecks in Valencia and Bilbao, Simple Plan performed for a couple of their fans a few new cover versions of well-known songs. First in Valencia, on JUne 22nd, the fans could hear the covers of “My Own Worst Enemy” (originally by Lit) and “What’s My Age Again” (originally by Blink 182) – thanks Lucka for the info:
And in Bilbao, a day later, the band offered something a bit different – a cover of “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns’n’Roses:
