Due to the fact that Simple Plan are normally not the paparazzi-attracting kind of band, it is quite unusual to have so much footage of people stalking the members of Simple Plan while they are walking around a city, trying to enjoy the local culture.
So after tons of pictures from today, below you can now check out two videos of the guys enjoying the city of Hanoi, in Vietnam… and crossing the street rather dangerously.
Yesterday, the organisers of the Calgary Stampede festival have announced the line-up of artists, who will be performing at this year’s Coca-Cola Stage at this festival. The festival takes place from July 6th to July 15th and will be featuring performances of The New Cities, Carly Rae Jepsen, K’Naan, Karl Wolf and Simple Plan among others.
Simple Plan will be performing on July 13th, along with acts like: Splash ‘n Boots, My Little Pony and Terry Stokes. Below you can check out a promotional video for this festival, announcing the line-up:
Everytime Simple Plan go on tour, they always try to spice up their concerts with something in order to make them even more special for their fans. In the last year, ever since Get Your Heart On! came out, we have witnessed them for instance inviting local female singers to sing Jet Lag with them on stage – the parts that were originally sung by Natasha Bedingfield.
And because Simple Plan are heading to Australia in only a couple of days, it was about time to choose the next lady who would be able to manage such task. That’s why Chuck spent last night going through various covers of Simple Plan songs on YouTube made by their fans and there he came across a cover of Jet Lag by a 16-year-old Christina Parie, who is mostly known in Australia for being one of the top finalists in the local version of the X Factor.
Chuck was very impressed with Christina’s version of Jet Lag and through Twitter he congratulated her for such an amazing cover and publicly invited her to come and join them on stage during their Australian tour and sing Jet Lag live. Of course, Christina accepted this opportunity and noted: “To think one of my favourite bands of all time would ask me this… Dreams DO come true!”
The Australian version of the singing competition show The Voice has a very impressive variety of coaches, which include Seal, Delta Goodrem (who you may remember from one of the versions of the music video for “Save You”), Keith Urban and Joel Madden from Good Charlotte. Their job is to mentor the contestants who get into their teams throughout the whole journey of the show.
One of Seal’s protégés is 26-years-old Sam Ludeman, who performed a cover version of a Simple Plan song in the last night’s episode of the song. And what other song than “Summer Paradise” it could be, when this song has already become Australia’s summer anthem, and has managed to stay at the tops of local music charts for weeks.
After Chuck from Simple Plan had heard about one of their songs being played on The Voice, he contacted Sam himself via Twitter, congratulated him on his performance and invited him and the coaches from The Voice for their upcoming concert in Sydney, Australia.
Below you can noww check out Sam Ludeman’s version of “Summer Paradise” that he performed with at The Voice yesterday (thanks to SPB.com for the link):
Thanks to our colleagues over at SPB.com you can now check out the previously mentioned “naked” version of the song Astronaut, which has appeared for the first time on the digital single of Summer Paradise, that is now available on iTunes.
What do you think about this new version? Which “Astronaut” is your favourite?
