Chuck to speak at the Music Matters conference in Singapore

Just like last year, Singapore is hosting the annual conference called “All That Matters”, which is divided into three parts: Digital Matters, Gaming Matters and (for us a very familiar one) Music Matters. The conference holds various lectures, workshops, speeches, artist performancers and discussions – all about how the contemporary music business works.

In the last year’s edition, Simple Plan attended this event mostly as performers – and apart from a concert, a few of the band members also took part in the recording of a new special version of the song “Fix You”, to support the victims of the earthquakes in Japan.

This year, All That Matters takes place from May 22nd to May 26th, and Chuck Comeau has confirmed his presence as one of the invited speakers for Music Matters, which takes place from 24th to 26th May. Along with him, his panel will be hosted by Simple Plan’s manager and Coalition Entertainment’s co-founder, Mr. Eric Lawrence.

In the following video you can check out what the previous volumes of this conference looked like:

The New Cities reveal another song written by Simple Plan members

As we’ve found out a couple months ago, the Canadian band The New Cities has a track on their new album called „Love Me Deadly“ which was written by Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan and it was thought to be the only song the guys have worked on.

However in the most recent interview at MuchMusic, the members of The New Cities have revealed that Chuck and Pierre have co-written also another track on the record and it’s the song called “Get Connected” , which is also featured on The New Cities’ latest album “Kill The Lights”. You can check out the interview with the band below on the video approximately at mark 7:20:

Reporter: And you guys have worked with Pierre from Simple Plan as well, you guys toured together… How was that?

The New Cities: Yeah, Pierre and Chuck. It was great! And we spent like one afternoon, and we just worked on a song and yeah, it’s great. It’s a song called „Get Connected“ and the other one called „Love Me Deadly“. So in one afternoon, two tracks, that’s it.

Simple Plan support “Concert For Change”

Free The Children and Me To We, charitable organisations that are helping children from all over the world to get educated, engaged an empowered, are hosting a special benefit concert in Lindsay, ON in Canada called “Concert For Change” with all the proceeds going to the forementioned cause. Simple Plan unfortunately won’t be able to attend the event (as at that time they will already be heading to Australia), but still decided to show their support of such event in the followng video:

Favourite Simple Plan moments from Europe

During the last two months, Simple Plan have travelled through a huge part of Europe, even managed to stop at places they’ve never been to before and most importantly played a huge amount of concerts for tens of thousands of European fans.

In the following video, the members of Simple Plan sum up their favourite moments of touring Europe:

Special SimplePlan.cz feature: Fans’ reactions to soundcheck party in Vienna

It’s been a little more than a month already, but I still have something special in store for you from the show in Vienna, Austria. Right before the concert, during the late afternoon, a couple of fans, who are a part of the official fanclub SP Crew, had the opportunity to attend the band’s soundcheck and later meet the members of Simple Plan in person.

Right after the souncheck party ended, I captured the reactions of a few fans from the Czech and Slovak Republic, who attended it. So if you’ve never met SPm before, this video might give you at least a little cue on what sorts of feelings can meeting the band induce.

Make sure to enable the English subtitles that I created for the video, by clicking on the red CC sign in the control panel of the video.

A huge thanks goes to all the fans, who were willing to comment on the soundcheck party – namely Michaela, Sandra, Andrea and Lucie, and also Viola for the clips from the Simple Plan show itself.
