Simple Plan have been friends with the guys from The New Cities ever since the two of them toured together across Canada a few years back and till now David from Simple Plan still occasionally plays drums during “Looks Minus Substance” on some of their shows. The New Cities have now released their second album “Kill The Lights” on September 27th 2011 – an album that also includes a song called “Love Me Deadly” that’s lyrics are the result of Pierre’s and Chuck’s collaboration with The New Cities. You can listen to it below:
But that’s not the only collaboration the SP guys have kept from us: apparently Pierre and Chuck have also helped co-write a song called “Spirit” from the album “Spirit” by a japanese singer Hitomi. All that along with Scott Cutler and Anne Preven – as well as the song called Do Or Die – which unfortunately didn’t make it on the album.

A few hours ago Simple Plan hopped on a plane and currently are on their way back home where they have a few weeks off before they hit the road again – this time in the USA. But the guys couldn’t leave Australia (which they like to call “Canada on steroids”) without a proper goodbye, so the guys decided to record a short vlog, in which they confirm again their intentions of coming back down under next year:
After three whole years Simple Plan finally returned to Australia. And just a few minutes after they landed they were warmly welcomed by a few old-school fans. The band’s first stop in Australia was at a local TV show called AFL Footy show, where the guys played their first single Jet Lag – although this time accompanied not by Marie-Mai, but by an Australian singer Vanessa Amorosi. Make sure to check out the video of their performance below:
This year’s Simple Plan Foundation’s benefit event has been a great success. First, on the press conference in the afternoon, the band presented the donations for this year: the total of $220 000 will be split between 24 organisations (in comparison to last year’s donations ($185 000), SPF donated a lot more this year).
