Reportage of Simple Plan in Beaubois College

The TV station TJ18H aired a reportage from the Beaubois College yesterday, from when Simple Plan attended a benefit event at places where 4 of the 5 members had met for the first time. Apart from the show, you’ll also see the band members walking through the school’s grounds and as a bonus you might even get a little sneak peek of some vintage photos of our boys from way back – when they were just teenagers. Simple Plan back at high school: last show of the year

Well, it’s not like they actually went back to high school – the guys just visited their former high school Beaubois College, where they met their old teachers of maths, English, French, religion, music and they also hung out the school’s principal! This event, where Simple Plan also performed an acoustic session, profited the Simple Plan Foundation as well as Beaubois College’s own foundation – and according to the show’s host Stéphane Leclair, the event raised over $20 000, so congratulations!

Sebastien & Katie: Webisode 1

Sebastien and Katie Rox, who are releasing their own EP Christmas Etc, promised their fans on Twitter that during the making-off their EP, they made a few videos – the so-called webisodes, which are going to be released in the 5 following weeks on andPOP.com. Check out the short introduction and the first webisode below:

Sebastien Lefebvre of Simple Plan and Katie Rox have been fans of one another for years. After a few years in the rock world, Katie switched focus for a more personal career in the direction of singer/songwriter in 2007. While Simple Plan were in between records, Sebastien released his first solo venture in 2009. The idea for the 2 friends to write songs together was always discussed, but to find the time – next to impossible. The 2 long time friends have been sharing song ideas, demos and records via the world wide web for years, and occasionally getting to share their craft in person whenever their tour schedules place them in the same city. Katie has spent the last few years self-releasing 2 albums: “High Standards” (2008) and “Searchlight” (2009). When Sebastien released his first solo EP “Vous Etes Ici” (2009), it was clear that the 2 friends had more in common than just other friends – their musical taste. However, with Sebastien based in Montreal and Katie in Vancouver, the two had to overcome unmatched schedules and the 3694 kilometers between them if they were ever going to collaborate. BBM, Skype and iChat quickly became regular members of what is now known as Sebastien & Katie. Over the span of a month, the 2 friends wrote and recorded their first EP together – Christmas Etc, Sebastien from his Montreal studio and Katie from hers in Vancouver. Christmas Etc shows that when it comes to friends & music, it’s not where you get it done – but how you get it done.

Simple Plan’s appearance on We Day: first news

Yesterday, on November 12th, Simple Plan performed at the event called “We Day”, which you couldn’t read about in one of our recent posts. And it seems like this year’s We Day in Montreal was pretty successful.

“Really proud to have been part of this Me to We event. It’s amazing to feel so much energy and positive vibes. I feel really good today,” said Jeff Stinco right after performing at the event. And speaking of Simple Plan’s performance, which was the final highlight of the evening, Chuck added: “Had a great time playing We Day today. We hadn’t played live in more than 2 months…i think we did pretty well! thx to all the kids there!”

Here you can check out few professional shots from the performance alongside with interviews with the We Day speakers and performers, including Simple Plan:

The gallery already offers few looks at the SP show and also the first picture from the press conference. I will be adding more pictures during the next few hours/days so keep checking back for more awesome photos!
