Singer Chloe Moriondo references Simple Plan in new song ‘Favorite Band’

On May 7th 2021, American singer-songwriter, 18-year-old Chloe Moriondo, who has a following of over 3 million users on her music YouTube channel, dropped her second studio album ‘Blood Bunny’.

In the process of creating this 13-track album, which could be described as a mixture of indie pop and bedroom pop, the talented artist drew inspiration from many artists that she grew up listening to and that have shaped her teenagehood. There’s no wonder, a song called ‘Favorite Band’ appears on the album as track no. 9, which gives pays homage to a bunch of artists that have influenced her, namely Simple Plan, All Time Low or Paramore.

Simple Plan in particular made it to the song’s chorus, which goes:

I wish I liked you as much as I like my favorite band
It’s not your fault, it’s mine, I’m just a kid like Simple Plan
And in the morning you could drive me home, put on your playlist
I just don’t like you as much as I like my favorite band

Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan already noticed the song and the nice little reference to his band in the chorus and reposted the song on his Instagram yesterday, adding:

“This came out today. Thank you for the amazing music and the rad shoutout, Chloe! Go check it out.”
