As you already know, last Saturday, Sebastien could not make it to the show that Simple Plan played at the celebrations of the return of the hockey season in Montreal, and for that night (and that night only) he was replaced by Patrick Bouchard, Marie-Mai’s former guitarist.
99Scenes did an interview with Patrick regarding him stepping in as Simple Plan’s guitarist for one show and you can now check out the English translation of it below:
99Scenes: How did you meet the guys from Simple Plan?
Patrick: Me and Jeff Stinco already had a little adventure before Simple Plan begined. After not keeping in touch for many years, we had the opportunity to work together again when Simple Plan asked Marie-Mai to sing on Jet Lag.
99Scenes: When and how were you approached to replace Seb at the show in Montreal? Have you jammed a few times before the show?
Patrick: Jeff texted me four days before the event asking if I was available and if it was possible for me to learn the songs quickly. I accepted without hesitation! After that we rehearsed it once, the day before the show. There was a lot of chemistry between me and the guys. It was a lot of fun!
99Scenes: How was the experience of playing with Simple Plan, live on TV across Canada?
Patrick: What a pleasure and a privilege! It is an experience that I will never forget. It’s great to get to experience being on stage with Simple Plan and to have a chance to work with such cool guys: friendly and professional!
99Scenes: Is there any chance to see you with Simple Plan again some day?
Patrick: The guys know that they can count on me if they need me. As for me it would be a great pleasure!
