Simple Plan start writing new songs for upcoming EP

It’s been no secret for the past few months that before Simple Plan release their 5th album, they would like to have a bridge between it and Get Your Heart On! by releasing a couple of songs in a form of an EP. As of right now, the guys have some left-over songs from the writing session of their last record, but are still trying to figure out what exact form the EP is going to take. Nonetheless, Simple Plan still plan on releasing the EP in 2013.

As you could hear in the new SimplePlan.cz interview with Chuck, him and Pierre even want to concentrate on writing some new songs in the coming weeks: “We’re actually gonna write some songs [this] week to try to add new songs. It might work, it might not work, but we’re gonna sit down and do like a two-week writing session to try to see if we can come up with another song or two songs for the project,” said Chuck.

And the boys seem to be keeping their word! Yesterday (after quite a long time), Pierre hopped on Twitter again to inform the fans that him and Chuck are currently hanging out with Ryan Petersen and Nolan Sipe. If those two names don’t ring a bell, you should know that Ryan and Nolan are American song-writers and producers who have helped Simple Plan co-write some of the songs in the past – most noticably Simple Plan’s first single off “Get Your Heart On!” – Jet Lag. So we can assume that those two might be helping out with the writing session for the EP as well.
