Song-writing credits on new album include lead singers of Plain White T’s and Semi Precious Weapons

Simple Plan’s new album “Taking One For The Team” is coming out in less than two months (February 19th 2016), so it’s a good time as any to start talking more about the tracks featured on the album. While we don’t know yet what singing collaborations the album will feature, we do know who contributed with their song-writing skills to some of the new tracks. And coincidentally two of the songs on TOFTT have been co-written by lead singers of some pretty well-known bands:

Firstly, let’s talk about the song “Problem Child”. According to ASCAP, the song has been co-written by Pierre, Chuck and Justin Tranter. Now while this name may not seem familiar to you at first, trust that Justin is the lead singer of a popular American rock band Semi Precious Weapons, who has most recently been dedicating most of his time to song-writing for (and with) various popular artists. His most notable songwriting credits include “Sorry” by Justin Bieber or “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy.

Another lead singer who’s co-written a song on the new Simple Plan album is none other than Tom Higgenson from Plain White T’s. The man behind the classic “Hey There Delilah” (after which Pierre named his dog, by the way), who has been friends with the members of Simple Plan for many years now, has contributed to the new Simple Plan song called “Perfectly Perfect”.

What do you think we can expect from these two songs now that we know who co-wrote them alongside Pierre and Chuck?
