Pierre and Chuck co-writers of Faber Drive’s new single “Do It In Hollywood”

The last time I mentioned that the members of the Canadian band Faber Drive (who you may remember as one of Simple Plan’s opening bands on their Canadian tour in 2008) were meeting Pierre and Chuck from Simple Plan in order to write together some more lyrics for Faber Drive’s new record was last December.

Pierre and Chuck had already worked on Faber Drive’s second album – Can’t Keep A Secret – on songs “Our Last Goodbye” and “G-Get up and dance!” before, so this was not the first time they hung out with Faber and the rest of the gang as songwriters.

Now to the exciting stuff – Faber Drive will be releasing their third album in just a couple of months and on March 13th their first single called “Do It In Hollywood” is coming out – which is also one of the songs that Chuck and Pierre from Simple Plan co-wrote.

Faber Drive’s drummer Andrew Stricko mentioned this song on Twitter a few days ago:

News from the Canadian tour

The Simple Plan guys are trying really hard to make every single concert on their current Canadian tour a very unique experience and so they planned a couple of more surprises for the fans who will be attending them. One of them, which we’ve already talked about, was the surprise appearance of Fefe Dobson on Jet Lag during Simple Plan’s show in Toronto. You can now check out their performance on YouTube:

Another “surprise” (if we can even call it that) is planned for tonight, when Marie-Mai will be joining Simple Plan on Jet Lag in their hometown of Montreal, Canadai – Marie-Mai confirmed this via her Twitter page.

And speaking of changes on the current Simple Plan tour, it is definitely worth mentioning that the guys have added 4 more songs to their already very long setlist: The Worst Day Ever, My Alien, Everytime (acoustic version) and Crazy (also acoustic version). You can check out the complete up-to-date setlist here.

Also, make sure not to forget to check out SimplePlan.cz’s gallery for more pictures from Toronto and also some brand new ones from London and Kitchener:

David’s clue to the secret SP project

For the past few weeks, the guys from Simple Plan have been giving away little hints here and there to what the secret project they are working on is, but they still haven’t given us any exact details.

From the last webchat we know that it should be some sort of a new secret collaboration, and that it will have something to do with their new single, which is Summer Paradise.

Another clue that the guys gave away – or at least according to David – was during the interview for The Sonic Nation when at mark 10:35, David says:

“Someone’s joining the SP club!”

According to David, the interviewer didn’t get the clue. I’d have a couple of ideas… but how about you? :)

I definitely recommend for you to check out the whole interview with The Sonic Nation:

Simple Plan work on a secret project, Chuck teases

Today, Chuck teased his fans on Twitter with a very mysterious new message, saying: “This morning Pierre Bouvier and I had to get up at 5:30am to Skype with a secret guest from a secret location for a secret project.”

So, the biggest question now is: what exactly are the Simple Plan guys up to?

Judging by the fact the guys had to get up super-early for the Skype call, we can assume that the mysterious guest probably isn’t from anywhere near their time-zone, which leaves us with Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Could this be about some possible new collaboration? Or something about the upcoming EP or DVD? Or perhaps even some secret show somewhere on the Earth?

Let’s hope we’ll get all these questions answered soon. What are your guesses?

Upadate: (Feb 5th 2012)

Pierre also mentioned the secret project in one of his tweets from last night, when he wrote: “Working on 2 exciting projects right now!!! Both of which I can’t speak of just yet… Fun stuff! Can’t wait to fill you all in!”

So it looks like we not only have one, but two secret projects that the guys are working on and we can look forward to. Let us know about YOUR ideas on what these secret projects could be about!

New Year’s show brought another Jet Lag collaboration: Chantal Kreviazuk

It has already become sort of a tradition for Simple Plan to whenever they have the chance (and Marie-Mai or Natashu Bedingfield are not around), they always try to find a female singer to perform Jet Lag with them on the show they are scheduled to play. And last night’s New Year’s show at Niagara Falls was no exception: Simple Plan were accompanied by a Canadian singer Chantal Kreviazuk.

If this name doesn’t ring any bell to you, you may have heard at least about her songwriting skills: in her career, Chantal has written (or co-written) for a huge number of musical artists: from Avril Lavigne (He Wasn’t) to Gwen Stefani (Rich Girl). She is also married to the lead singer of the band Our Lady Peace (Raine Maida), that also performed at this event.

Make sure to check out the gallery for the first pictures of Chantal on stage with the members of Simple Plan.
