All collaborations on the new album revealed!

The new surprise on SimplePlan.com includes a video, in which the guys from Simple Plan finally revealed all their (so far so “top secret”) collaborations/featurings – which will appear on the album. As you already know, Get Your Heart On will be including 11 songs. Out of these 11, 4 of them will be featuring 5 external singers.

So far, the officially confirmed featurings were Rivers Cuomo (from the band Weezer) on Can’t Keep My Hands Off You, and next Natasha Bedingfield and Marie-Mai on the song Jet Lag.

About now about the two remaining collaborations: first, it has finally been confirmed what Alex Gaskarth (from the band All Time Low) mentioned in one interview – that just like Simple Plan contributed to the new All Time Low record, Alex also offered something for the new SP album. Namely – his vocals, for the song Freaking Me Out.

The last collaboration is definitely a big surprise: song no.8, Summer Paradise, will be featuring the Canadian singer/rapper K’Naan, who we’ve mentioned in the news before: he is the writer/singer of the song Wavin’ Flag, which the charitable group Young Artists For Haiti (and Pierre Bouvier being a part of it) covered last year in order to support the victims of the natural catastrophes on Haiti.

What do you think about the new collaborations?

First single Jet Lag to premiere next week!

Simple Plan have finally confirmed to Alter The Press which song will be their official first single: it will be Jet Lag, a song that the guys shot a video for just a few days ago and to which we already know the lyrics for.

The website has also confirmed the rumours that the song will be indeed featuring the British singer Natasha Bedingfield.

The single itself is set to premiere next week on April 26th.

And thanks to our colleagues at SPB here is the official cover art for the first single Jet Lag off the new Simple Plan record. What are your thoughts on it?

Will Natasha Bedingfield be featured on the English version of Jet Lag?

Ever since the boys shot the music video for the song Jet Lag two days ago, lots of rumours have started spreading on the internet. I can confirm that Jet Lag will be the song that has been already mentioned by Simple Plan to be available in two versions: in English and in French and (as you’ve been already informed before) one of the featurings on this song should be Marie-Mai.

Wait.. did I just say ONE of the featurings? Yes! Apparently Marie-Mai should only be singing the vocals on the French version of Jet Lag, yet the English version should feature the British singer Natasha Bedingfield, which you may remember from hits such as Unwritten, These Words, or most recently Pocket Full of Sunshine, which you may have heard in the movie Easy A.

It is important to mention that Simple Plan have not confirmed any of the two featurings of these two ladies. At least not yet. What do YOU think about them?

New featuring rumour: Marie-Mai to sing on Jet Lag?

Most of the Simple Plan fans are by now probably already aware of the fact that the 4th Simple Plan album will be filled with many collaborations: with a bunch of co-producers, producers, song-writers and singers – from Claude Kelly and Alex Gaskarth, to Rivers Cuomo. Though, not all the names of famous personalities, who have worked on the upcoming Simple Plan release, have been announced yet. As the band has said – there are still lots of surprises to come.

And one of them might have leaked onto the internet already: a French-Canadian singer Marie-Mai, who has been one of the top finalists of the singing competition Star Académie, was spotted at the shooting of Jet Lag on Toronto airport (Marie-Mai was apparently NOT on the set of Jet Lag, yet it is rumoured she WILL be singing on the song). Now, because Simple Plan have already mentioned there will be a guest appearence on Jet Lag, chances are Marie-Mai could be another interesting collaboration on the new Simple Plan record. And if she’s actually singing, that would make her the first woman to ever have a duet with Simple Plan.

Also, eTalk has recently aired a video including both artists:

Another featuring on the new Simple Plan record?

For a few days now we already know that there should be some sort of a secret featuring on the new Simple Plan album – that means a special guest, who would be singing at some parts of a certain song. The first recorded featuring was mentioned by Jeff at the beginning of November. The second one we’ve learned about only a couple days back, when Pierre and Chuck recording some special vocals in LA.

Today, Jeff unleashed on his Twitter the following:

It doesn’t stop: someone really awesome just contributed a guest vocal on the record at the last minute. will tell you, just can’t right now.

So what do you think? Does it all mean we can expect more special guests or just one? And who might it be?
