Paris show: Simple Plan added ‘Bed’ to tour setlist

Simple Plan slowly continue touring Europe on the March leg of the European tour that will continue in May with the second leg. On their stop in Paris last night, the band surprised their fans by finally adding their most recent single ‘I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed’ to their setlist, which made the setlist officially 20-songs-long.

Another interesting thing about this show was that while so far at every stop in a French speaking country, he band has played their bi-lingual songs in their French version, they didn’t do so now. Songs like ‘I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed’, Jet Lag or Summer Paradise were according to the attendees performed in their original English versions.

The songs that were included on the setlist were the following ones:

1. Opinion Overload
2. Jet Lag
3. Jump
(‘I Gotta Feeling‘ snippet)
4. I’d Do Anything
5. Boom
6. The Rest Of Us
7. Your Love Is A Lie
8. Welcome to My Life
9. I Refuse
10. Party medley
(‚Uptown Funk‘ / ‚Can’t Feel My Face‘ cover)
11. I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed
12. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
13. Summer Paradise
14. Farewell
15. Crazy
16. I’m Just a Kid

Encore:
17. Shut Up!
18. Perfect World
19. This Song Saved My life
(no drums)
20. Perfect

VIDEO: Simple Plan teach how to run “Baywatch-style”

A couple weeks ago, Pierre and Chuck did a couple promo interviews on various media channels in Canada, one of which being eTalk. Now, you can finally check out a part of their appearance there, where the boys from Simple Plan taught eTalk’s Ben Mulroney how to run Baywatch-style, after they’ve mastered the running style for their music video “I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed”.

Recap of Premios Telehit: SP performed in Mexico

It comes as no surprise that the most covered topic at this year’s Premios Telehit, or also known as the Telehit Awards in Mexico City, Mexico, was One Direction. The remaining acts got practically no media coverage, which is also a reason for the lack of pictures of Simple Plan so far. However you can find a couple of those that did slip through the cracks of the Internet in the gallery.

But even though we don’t have many pictures from the show yet, there is still stuff to talk about. Most importantly: the setlist. Simple Plan performed four songs in total last night, which was apparently more than originally planned, as both Simple Plan and One Direction had to add more songs to their setlist to “stall” due to Fifth Harmony being very late for the event.

The Telehit Awards were the first time where Simple Plan performed their brand new song “I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed” live. Below you can check out the first 6-second clip of the live version of this song that appeared online:

Update: Here’s a longer version of “I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed” captured by one of the fans:

And if you’re interesting in the whole setlist – it looked like this:

1. Shut Up!
2. Boom
3. I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed
4. Jet Lag

And last but not the least, I’d also like to share with you this video from the press conference the guys held before they went up the stage at Premios Telehit. There, the band discussed many questions related to music in general, their stance on pop and rock music and their new album. The band confirmed at this press conference that they will indeed be revealing their new album’s title on Monday:

Pierre and Chuck discuss pop-punk vs. pop sound in a new interview

Last week Pierre and Chuck gave a number of interviews last week when they were in Toronto, Canada, one of which being the one for ET Canada.

In this interview, which is set to fully air tonight, Pierre and Chuck talked about a number of different things including one of the most controversial topics regarding SP lately and that is the fact that to some, their most recent music (e.g. first single “I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed”) seems to be heading in a more pop way than the pop-punk/alternative/back to their roots way. The two song-writers addressed this topic saying these songs are just a sample from their newest record, which they feel is their best record yet, and which includes some of the heaviest and most pop-punk songs they have ever written.
