A couple weeks ago, I posted a recent interview with the members of Tonight Alive, in which they talked about opening for Simple Plan in Australia in 2011. So it’s only fitting that now that we’re just days away from another Simple Plan show where Tonight Alive will be opening for them (Perth, Australia – on December 3rd), Noise11 published a rather old interview with Tonight Alive – back from 2011 – from right after the band’s tour with SP and below you can check out what Jenna McDougall and Whakaio Taahi, where they once again talk about how great it was to tour with the boys from SP and for Jenna to sing on Jet Lag every night.
Interviewer: Did you have fun on stage with Simple Plan doing Jet Lag?
Jenna: Oh, yeah! I had so much fun!
Interviewer: So every night you were doing it?
Jenna: Yeah, I did. It was only four shows, but it just felt so good to be on stage with them. I’ve listened to them since I was 12 years old so it was just just really cool.
Interviewer: You looked really chummy – I saw some videos…
Jenna: Yeah? Well they were really friendly! They were just so welcoming to us
Interviewer: They are Canadians!
Jenna: They were just like… hugs all around.
Whakaio: Yeah, they were such genuinely nice people and like… they’d really care about what you had to say and there wasn’t anything fake about it. It was just great.
Jenna: There was no arrogance, there was nothing about them that was like disappointing. They are really refreshing.
You can check out the full interview with Jenna and Whakaio on the video below – the SP part starts at mark 10:35:
