E-tickets registration for charitable live stream of a Simple Plan concert now open

In two weeks, Simple Plan will be performing at a special free acoustic concert in Toronto, ON as a part of the collaboration between Simple Plan Foundation and Kiehl’s. Kiehl’s has now finally updated their website for this event, which has now revealed more info about it.

If you’d like to attend this event on September 19th, you have to get your free ticket in one of the Kiehl’s stores in Ontario, starting September 13th at 10am [list of the stores where you can get these tickets can be found here]. There’s only a limited amount of tickets per store available, so be quick – plus, there will also be some tickets left for TV contests winners. And one more side note: According to the website, there is an age restriction for this concert and the attendees should be 19 years and older.

But if you’re not in the Toronto area at that time, don’t fret: the whole concert will be streamed live and you will be able to watch it online as it happens. And so you should – because for every view that the stream gets, Kiehl’s will donate $1 to the Simple Plan Foundation. So spread the word and make sure to tell everyone to watch this stream on September 19th at 8pm EST! More views equals more proceeds going to a good cause! To aquire your e-ticket for the stream, simply enter your email address on Kiehlsgives.ca. I will be updating you with any other updates and also will remind you of the stream again in two weeks.

New interview with Jeff, David and Seb

Besides answering the fans’question through a Twitter chat last Tuesday at the launch of Kiehl’s new facial product [photos here], David, Jeff and Sebastien gave a couple interviews to the media about their recent collaboration with the cosmetic brand and its ties to the Simple Plan Foundation. The first one posted online comes from the LouLou magazine and you can check it out below:

Can you tell us a little bit about the Simple Plan Foundation and what it means to you guys?

Jeff: Well, the foundation started out with us hearing from fans (through letters or talking to them backstage) about the problems they were faced with. We felt helpless that we couldn’t really do anything about these problems. We were doing other foundation work at the time, but the money in some instances did not go directly to the causes we were supporting. Basically we decided to do it on our own and we put every penny raised into the organization that we’re helping. We try to aim for organizations that aren’t necessarily as visible in the media, or as glamorous. It’s not very sexy to deal with causes that deal with dependency, sexual identity, homelessness…

Seb: There’s 3 ways that Kiehl’s is giving back. First, they’re donating 100% of the Limited Edition Ultra Facial Cream profits to the Foundation. They will also donate $1 for every transaction on September 12-14, 2014. And finally we’re hosting a free acoustic performance in Toronto on September 19th that will be live-streamed. For each view, Kiehl’s is donating $1.

Can you share any fashion or beauty tips of your own?

Jeff: I like the fact that nowadays, it’s all about a little scruff… it prevents me from having to shave everyday! You also need good shoes in life… that’s very important.

Seb: I think you have to do something that works for you. There are a lot of trends going on, and there are people who follow those trends, but sometimes it just doesn’t work. It’s about being confident with your own style.

Can you share with us some of your fave hot spots in Montreal?

Jeff: In the last few years I’ve seen a boom in the restaurant scene and the bar scene… it’s amazing! Mangiafoco is one of my restaurants in Old Montreal, it’s a designer pizzeria. Also Laurea on Laurier, it’s super nice and has a beautiful setting.

David: If you want to have a cool and a little bit more hip setting, go to the bar next to Laurea… you’ll most likely see me there!

Jeff: I’m going to give you the scoop… the best place to eat for lunch in Montreal is called Juicy Dumplings. It’s amazing, one of the best kept secrets in Montreal!

New photos of David, Jeff and Seb from Kiehl’s Twitter chat

On Tuesday, David, Jeff and Sebastien appeared in the Kiehl’s store in Montreal, where the company launched its new product – a facial cream, whose sales will help out the Simple Plan Foundation. The boys also did a Twitter chat with their fans through the Kiehl’s Twitter account that day. Here are some new additions to the gallery from that day:

On Tuesday evening, all the members of Simple Plan who reside in Montreal – Jeff, Sebastien and David – took part in the launch of the charity program Kiehl’s Rocks For Kids at the Kiehl’s store in Montreal, Canada. This program includes the following four initiatives:

limited edition of the Ultra Facial Cream: this product will be available in all the Kiehl’s stores in Canada with 100% net profit going to the Simple Plan Foundation.
for every transaction made at Kiehl’s between September 12th and 14th 2014, Kiehl’s will donate $1 to the Simple Plan Foundation.
acoustic performance of Simple Plan: the band will perform a special acoustic concert in Toronto, Canada on September 19th. The tickets will be given away for free at Toronto Kiehl’s stores starting September 13th and also through a contest on Breakfast Television.
live-stream of the concert: the show will be streamed online for all the fans, who donate $1 per view for the Simple Plan Foundation.

The company’s goal is to raise $40 000 for the Simple Plan Foundation through these initiatives.

During the evening at the Kiehl’s store, the members of Simple Plan gave out a couple of interviews to the media (which should be available soon – stay tuned!) and after that sat down with a laptop to answer the fans’ questions that have been sent in in advance using special hashtags on Twitter. You can check out all the fan questions and answers at @kiehlscanada. One answer that stood out was the band’s indirect confirmation of the rumor that there is indeed something coming up between Simple Plan and the Australian band 5 Seconds Of Summer in the future. See the tweet below:

The boys also helped the local Kiehl’s team with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge – which you can see on a video here. And finally: in the gallery you can now check out the first pictures of David, Jeff and Sebastien from last night’s appearance at the Kiehl’s store:
