Simple Plan heading to China: more details about their Snowtime promo trip revealed

As of this moment, the members o Simple Plan are all aboard the plane heading from Canada to China, where they are to take part in the promo tour tied to the upcoming release of the animated Canadian film ‘Snowtime’ in Chinese cinemas [check out the Chinese version of the film’s poster on the left]. Simple Plan have recorded the song ‘The Heroes’ exclusively for the soundtrack of this movie, which has become Canada’s highest grossing film of 2015.

With the promo tour just around the corner, more details have also been released today regarding Simple Plan’s schedule in China. On Friday, March 3rd, Simple Plan will be present at Coco Park in Shenzhen, China, where they will perform the song ‘The Heroes’ at the early screening of the film. The next day, March 4th, the band will then move with the promo tour to Beijing, China, where the performance should be repeated.

Besides that, it seems that we may be in for a treat in a form of an interesting new live collaboration! According to Sina.com, the Chinese singer Xu Weizhou, who sings the Chinese version of ‘The Heroes’, should join the band during their performances in Shenzhen and Beijing.

Make sure to follow SimplePlan.cz in the coming days for all the info about the band’s trip to China (we have our spies everywhere! :)). And before the guys get there, remind yourselves of the song the boys are heading to China in the first place:

Simple Plan to travel to China next month to perform at early screenings of “Snowtime!”

It seems that Simple Plan will be back on stage even sooner than we initially expected! It has just been announced, through a post on Journal de Montreal, that Simple Plan will be heading to China in the beginning of March to perform in Beijing and Shenzhen at two early screenings of the Canadian animated film ‘Snowtime!’ (the original French title is ‘La Guerre Des Tuques 3D’), for which they recorded an English version of the track ‘The Heroes’ back in 2015. The band is expected to perform the song ‘The Heroes’ live at the screenings of the film.

The film’s producer, Marie-Claude Beauchamp, commented on the band’s willingness to promote the movie: “It’s great that the guys at Simple Plan agreed to accompany us on the promotion tour in China.”

The official premiere of ‘Snowtime!’ in China is set for April 1st and according to earlier first screenings back in January, the Chinese audiences seem to be very excited about the movie. The animated film is a remake of a 1984 film of the same name and even though it was only released in November 2015, it has still managed to become Canada’s highest grossing film of 2015 with 3.3 million dollars in earnings.

Remind yourselves of the song below (Chuck wasn’t present during the recording of ‘The Heroes’ as his son London was being born at the same time as the song was being recorded in the studio):

LISTEN to the full version of Simple Plan’s song “The Heroes”

Back in June of this year, the members of Simple Plan hit the recording studio again to record one song for the soundtrack to the movie “La Guerre des Tuques 3D” (“The Dog Who Stopped The War”). The song is called “The Heroes” and it is important to note that it wasn’t originally written by Simple Plan, but by Jonathan Painchaud who’s French version of this song also appears on the soundtrack.

Finally, after long months of waiting, you can now check out the full version of “The Heroes” in the video below, which also shows you the behind the scenes from the recording session. Interestingly, as you can see from the video, David Desrosiers took care of both the bass guitar and the drums or this song. It is currently unknown why Chuck didn’t participate in this recording, but it is quite possible the birth of his son (a week after the recording session) may have been the reason behind his absence.

PREVIEW: Simple Plan’s version of the soundtrack song “The Heroes”

The soundtrack to the upcoming new animated movie “La Guerre des Tuques 3D” (“The Dog Who Stopped The War 3D” – in theatres from November 13th), which I reported about a couple weeks ago, is now finally available in stores in Canada, as well as available for online purchase on iTunes since yesterday.

A large number of renowned Canadian artists contributed to this soundtrack – with songs in French and in English – most notably Celine Dion, Walk Off The Earth and Simple Plan.

On this soundtrack, Simple Plan recorded the English version of the original French song “Les héros” by Jonathan Painchaud, which means it is not a Simple Plan song, but rather a cover version. As of right now, the full version of the Simple Plan’s version of the song – called “The Heroes” – is not available anywhere, however for the first time, you can listen to the preview of it right here (via Archambault):

Simple Plan’s new song “The Heroes” to appear on a soundtrack to a new animated film “La Guerre des Tuques 3D”

Back in June 2015 it was revealed that Simple Plan were recording a new song for a special soundtrack project that was in works. A month later Chuck confirmed that this song was to appear in a film that was a remake of the 80s classic Canadian animated film “The Dog Who Stopped The War” (La Guerre des Tuques). And now we finally have some new exciting and detailed info regarding this project!

It has been announced that the new animated film “La Guerre des Tuques 3D” (“The Dog Who Stopped The War 3D”) will be released on November 13th 2015 in theaters all over Canada [maybe even elsewhere] and the soundtrack for it will be available two weeks earlier – on October 30th to be exact.

The soundtrack’s tracklist has also been revealed now and besides songs from Celine Dion, Marie-Mai or Walk Off The Earth, Simple Plan fans can spot a brand new title for a new Simple Plan song, which is called “The Heroes”. Interestingly it is one of the very few songs with an English title, as the majority of the soundtrack seems to be in French. However there is a strong possibility that it might just be an English version of the song “Les héros” by Jonathan Painchaud (see the tracklist) – just as there are two other English and French versions of songs on the soundtrack – “Liberty”/”Liberté” a “I Am The Wind”/”Je Suis Le Vent” – so it may not be an original song by Simple Plan. Check out the French version of “Les héros” here:

Whether this song would appear on the new Simple Plan album is currently unknown.
