Chuck about Simple Plan’s appearance at Aerodrome Festival in Prague

The Czech news website denik.cz published an article today about the upcoming Simple Plan appearance at the Aerodrome Festival in Prague, Czech Republic, which will take place on June 11th, and where Simple Plan will perform alongside Mallory Knox, Machine Gun Kelly, Enter Shikari, Royal Republic, the main headliners Linkin Park and one more band, which will be revealed in the middle of April.

In the article, Deník also briefly quotes an interview with Chuck Comeau about the Aerodrome Festival. Chuck discussed what sorts of events Simple Plan usually perform at and why it is important to them to also perform at festivals besides their own headlining shows:

“We often play in punk-rock clubs, bigger venues and even outdoors. What’s interesting about festivals is that you will find music fans there who might have never heard your music before. And that makes us work even harder to convince them that they are in the right place.”

– Chuck Comeau –

Chuck also mentioned his excitement about seeing his band perform alongside Linkin Park in June:

“We’re really happy to be sharing the stage with them. Even though their music is a bit different from ours, we believe that the visitors of the festival will enjoy both us and them.”

– Chuck Comeau –

An interview about Aerodrome Festival with a member of Simple Plan also aired at the biggest Czech commercial radio station – Evropa 2 – on Friday. The interview featured Jeff and apparently he had some very nice things to say about SimplePlan.cz during this interview. I’m still trying to get my hands on the actual interview – will post it once I receive it.

Aerodrome Festival in Prague adds another name: Mallory Knox – thanks to Simple Plan!

The organizers of this year’s edition of the Aerodrome Festival in Prague, who’s line-up already includes acts such as Simple Plan, Linkin Park, Enter Shikari, Royal Republic and Machine Gun Kelly, have just announced another addition on their line-up: Mallory Knox. As you know, Mallory Knox will also be joining Simple Plan on many other dates of their NPNHJB tour.

And according to the promoters of the festival, it is in fact Simple Plan who are behind the announcement:

“Even though we initially announced that this year’s edition of AF would include 6 bands, here will be 7 bands in total in the end! Thanks to Simple Plan, who came up with the idea (because MK are one of the opening bands on their tour) and thanks to Mallory Knox, who agreed. We are looking forward to Mallory Knox and we will announce the final band’s name in about a month. Enjoy your day and start getting ready for June 11th. It’s going to be a really long day and night!” – Aerodrome Festival

The festival will take place at the Letňany airport in Prague, Czech Republic on Sunday, June 11th.

1 year since the Simple Plan show in Prague, Czech Republic

Exactly one year ago today Simple Plan performed the biggest show of their 2016 European tour – in Prague, Czech Republic, where they performed in the sold-out Malá Sportovní Hala venue for more than 4000 people. This was the third SP show that Prague got to experience (previous two took place in 2008 and 2011), and as this is an originally Czech fansite, this show has of course a very big significance for us. And to Simple Plan too – in fact they have mentioned numerous time that alongside Cologne and Rome, Prague was one of the best shows of the Taking One For The Team tour in Europe.

Whether it was the cold weather outside, the fun (and quite big) soundcheck party, the great opening bands, the special on-stage thank you from Pierre to SimplePlan.cz, the fabulous SimplePlan.cz sign surprise the fans had for the band during ‘The Rest Of Us’ or the exciting show itself – it will definitely be one of the most memorable shows for the local (and even for the not-so-local) fans [if you missed it, make sure to read the SP.cz review the Prague show].

Thankfully, Prague is lucky to welcome the Simple Plan guys again very very soon – they will be back for the Aerodrome Festival with Linkin Park and more on June 11th and it will be a blast! Don’t miss it, if you’re in the area!

As always, I’m already preparing to interview the band again in Prague, so if you have any awesome, never-been-asked-before questions in your mind, send them my way! This is the last interview SimplePlan.cz did with Chuck and Seb/b> (and David, sitting on the floor in front of us, listening), before the show in Prague a year ago:

And until the next show in Prague, let’s reminisce about the 2016 heck of a show with some awesome photos in the gallery and also with this nice little video montage of the whole show Bára has put together:

Simple Plan: ‘We can’t wait to see our Czech fans!’

The Czech Simple Plan fans were treated with a very nice surprise this morning when the Aerodrome Festival, which takes place in Prague every year, announced 4 more acts to the already announced American band, Linkin Park. Besides LP, the attendees will get to see Enter Shikari, Royal Republic, Machine Gun Kelly and.. Simple Plan [read more about it here]!

The band also released a little note about their upcoming appearance at the Czech festival, in which they expressed their excitement about coming back to see their local fans.

Read it below:

Praha!! Very excited to announce that we will be performing for you at the Aerodrome Festival on June 11th along with Linkin Park, Machine Gun Kelly, Enter Shikari and Royal Republic! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

We can’t wait to see all our Czech fans in Prague! And for everyone asking, there’s more European tour dates coming soon! #teamsptour

*We apologize for the confusion and inaccurate information posted earlier on our FB page and Twitter. The show is on June 11th 😬

Back in Prague: Simple Plan to perform at Aerodrome Festival with Linkin Park and more!

Yes, it’s true!

Last year’s March Simple Plan show has left many positive impressions in the mind of the band and they immediately started working on another visit to the Czech Republic. Finally, all deals were sealed a few days ago, which is why we will welcome Simple Plan to Prague again this year – this time not at a headlining show, but at the open-air Aerodrome Festival, which will take place on June 11th 2017! Apart from Simple Plan, the Aerodrome Festival’s line-up also includes Enter Shikari, Royal Republic and Machine Gun Kelly and the headliners: Linkin Park. Plus – the promoters are teasing that within a month they will be adding one additionalname to the line-up!

Two types of tickets are available for this event – “front of stage” (zone 1) and “general admission” (zone 2). Zone 1 takes up about one third of the whole capacity of the festival. That is exactly 7 000 tickets out of the whole capacity: 25 000 tickets.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that Linkin Park were announced so early on (last November), the whole “front of stage” sector has been sold out, leaving only regular “standing” (general admission) tickets on sale. After today’s line-up announcement, the price of these GA tickets went up to 1990 CZK per ticket. The tickets are available at TicketPortal.

All info about the festival can be found in its own section now on SimplePlan.cz – Prague 2017.

What is Aerodrome Festival?

Aerodrome Festival is a one-day-long Czech festival, that has been organized by NuCoast Productions in Prague since 2013. The previous editions of this festival brought the following acts to Prague:

2016: Korn, Bring Me The Horizon, Billy Talent, Bad Religion, Zebrahead
2014: June – Avenged Sevenfold, Limp Bizkit, Rob Zombie, Powerman 5000, Hentai Corporation & July: Metallica, Alice In Chains, Children Of Bodom, Kvelertak
2013: System Of A Down, NOFX, Flogging Molly, Killswitch Engage

The NuCoast Productions agency previously also organized the Prague Sounds Good festival in August 2016 (SUM 41, NOFX, Millencolin, Pennywise, Leftöver Crack, Donaha)

Note: due to the fact that it is a festival, we don’t expect Simple Plan’s setlist to be the setlist of their No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls anniversary tour. Instead, the setlist should include a mix of SP’s greatest hits, and should be shorter than regular headlining shows.

More information about the bands’ schedule throughout the day, accommodation capacities or the checkroom, will be revealed in the upcoming months. As always, don’t forget to follow SimplePlan.cz for all the latest info.

I can hardly imagine a better celebration of SimplePlan.cz’s 10th anniversary this year than with another SP show in Prague!

Meet you there, at Aerodrome!
